Words cannot do this tour justice. The Sistine Chapel has always been on my bucket list, so I was overjoyed to get to experience Michelangelo’s breathtaking work. I did not, however, know so many of Rafael’s works were also displayed, nor that the floors were amazing. And let me say that being Protestant will in no way hinder your tour of this beautiful Catholic basilica - we both said St. Peter’s Basilica is one of the most stunning works of beauty we’ve seen. There were so many works of art (statues, paintings, mosaics, floors) it was overwhelming…you didn’t know where to look…total sensory overload in the very best way. Our tour guide, Yanira, was tiny but mighty! She was a wealth of information! Evidently, 2025 is also a Jubilee year for Catholics, so we saw many “pilgrims” coming into the basilica singing and praising God! I highly recommend this tour. You get more than your money’s worth!
