Although the smog in Jinan cost us a whole day, I was still quite satisfied with the Ctrip independent travel experience. There was one problem: a flight delay. While staying at the hotel, I received a call in the middle of the night from the company responsible for airport pickup in Phuket. I don't know if Ctrip's customer service failed to notify me properly or if something went wrong in Phuket, but I was disturbed in the middle of the night. This time, Ctrip helped me get compensation from the airline, and the hotel refunded the first night's fee, which was good. However, the Ping An Insurance process was a bit complicated; the claim is still not complete. It was actually a chartered flight. Besides a few of us, everyone else on the plane was with a tour group. No one greeted us on the way there, and having so much freedom made me feel a bit lonely. The hotel was pretty good, but the staff didn't quite make guests feel that Thailand is a smiling country. Otherwise, it was acceptable.
