Reviews: Santorini Caldera Cruise Tour (Volcano, Hot Springs, Thirassia)

We booked this trip through Santo Star (office in main town of Fira) the night before. The trip was perfect and well worth the €35 paid (ONLY €5 more to have an extra 2 hours on the trip and visit Thirassia Island too rather than just the volcano and hot springs. The crew were great and the guide (Rula) was so knowledgeable and gave us a really in depth description of the history and the creation of the islands. Take their advice and wear good footwear as there is a lot of walking if you want to make the most of the trip. We had a beautiful lunch at the first restaurant you come to if you walk up to the village on Thirassia. We took loads of drinks and snacks with us (you can leave bags on the boat at stopoffs) but there is also a bar on board. DO NOT miss out on this trip. It really is worth it 👌★

We took the day tour without food and drinks option.
The catamaran tour was great. Rides to and from hotel in comfortable air conditioned vehicle, arrived exactly on time.
Very clean boat, no one uses outdoor shoes in it (they are collected and stored upon entry and returned when leaving the catamaran.
Very clean washrooms and elegant change rooms (for changing into swimsuits).
Very comfortable cushioned seating and lounge chairs in all parts of the boat.
Clean towels offered at each swimming place.
When climbing back into the catamaran from swiming into the sea, if we wanted the tour guide girls showered us from a gentle hose with warm water (or cold if one preferred) to wash off the sea water if people skins were sensitive to it.
All tour guides very skilled in handling the catamaran (steering it, working the anchor, getting to shore)
The tour guides were very nice and helpful (swiming in the sulphur water hot springs iritated my skin creating red dots all over my hands and legs, and the tour guide girls promptly gave me a special cream that helped a lot, in 2 hours the spots were gone).
The swimming was fantastic in all swimming stops.
They offered us water if we wanted.
The snorkeling equipment and lifevests (circles) were provided at the snorkeling place, so people could relax when swimming in the very deep sea (some people chose to swim without them). The snorkeling was great, saw hundreds of fish near the catamaran, when the tour guide threw some crumbs in the water. Snorkled for almost one hour.
The views from the catamaran decks were amazing, and riding it was wonderful even at speed on high waves created by the strong wind that day in one place.
The tour guides gave great information about places we saw and about each stop on the way.
They were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
There was a while fleet of Spiridakos catamarans, maybe 5, one group of aroun 12 tourists in each, that moved together at times, especially well coordinated at swim stops.

A must do tour and our guide Spiros was fun and full of information as he guided us on this tour.
The history is incredible with beautiful views along the way to Oia where we walked around the shops in awe of the spectacular buildings and again, the views. Air con van so very comfortable. Highly recommend this amazing tour!★

We had an excellent experience on this sunset cruise. They picked us up from our hotel in Fira and it was a short 10 minute ride to the port. The catamaran is beautiful, clean, and the staff are wonderful. The food was delicious and the staff did a great job sharing highlights along our journey and cooking a delicious meal. We stopped to swim in a couple spots and on the way back before the sunset we had fun with music and more drinks. It was nice that it was an adult only cruise. The sunset was spectacular! Would highly recommend this sunset cruise and company.★

An excellent tour of the island, guided by Gregory who was very knowledgeable on the different areas explaining in English. Courteous and happy to answer any questions we all felt the tour of the island allowed us to see everything of importance. The people carrier was comfortable and Gregory was a very good driver.
Highly recommended.
