The weather in Jeju has turned quite chilly lately, but somehow that made today’s East Jeju tour even more memorable. At Seongsan Ilchulbong, we watched the Haenyeo — the incredible female divers of Jeju — walk straight into the cold ocean without hesitation. I couldn’t help but think about how hard their lives must have been in the past, and yet how full of pride and strength they still are. It was both beautiful and humbling. Our guide Stella made the experience even more special. Her explanations were thoughtful but sprinkled with humor, and she took care of everyone so kindly. She even shared Jeju’s famous tangerines with us — sweet and refreshing, just like her personality. I found myself wanting to learn more about the island’s traditions and people after hearing her stories. Despite the cold air, the day felt warm because of the guide’s sincerity and the spirit of Jeju that surrounded us.

We were promptly meet by Mr. K every morning. He was an exceptional guide and showed us everything we wanted to see on Jeju Island. He went out of his way to insure we had a great time. The best photos of our trip were taken by him. He was able to get us to do some unique poses. If you want a memorable trip to Jeju island this is a must!


