The boat ride was beautiful and the captain, Frank, was wonderful. He gave us great information, was personable and very patient with other guests who were talking through his information. We visited caves, circled the island and saw a lot in an hour. It was the perfect activity and very reasonably priced. Because check-in is in a different location from where you board the boat, make sure you heed the directions to arrive 20 minutes before the departure. All of the other guests on my boat came late and it can impact the start of the trip. I highly recommend this tour for the start of your visit to Siracusa. It is a must do!★

Booked this tour before visited Ortigia and we were happy we did. Maria Grazia was our own personal tour guide for the experience, as myself and my husband were the only ones on this day. She is such an interesting person, with a wealth of local knowledge, as her family originated from Ortigia. We started off with the local market tour which is a beautiful site, the colours, smells are a sight not be missed. We ate the most amazing sandwich at the market then walked through some of the streets looking at the different architecture. Other delicacies were the fried fish and vegetables. We went there the day after and tried the fried squid which was cooked to perfection. More walking, then a savoury puff pastry dish and Arancini, more walking and almond and lemon granita, more walking and finally tasters of limoncello and a cannoli….. This is a lot of food, so go hungry. We didn’t have anything else to eat for the rest of the day…
