Reviews: Skipton: Round-Trip Scenic Yorkshire Steam Train Ride

lovely views of the countryside .staff at the station very helpful .cafe and shop if you wanted to use them . old carriages with tables which was good. unfortunatley we were pulled by a deisel train as steam engine wouldnt start.found this disappointing even though we understood why. also childrens safari adventure on all trains that day. speakers in all carriages (except first class) so we had to listen to "the rangers " interracting with the children ,accompanied by very loud music . several passengers complained and were moved into the first class carriages where there was no speakers .
Reviews: From Manchester: Dales and Brontë Country Small Group Tour
Guest User2026-06-30
I booked Yorkshire trip from Manchester and had an amazing day with my bestie! We began at Haworth, Brontë country, bought a Wuthering Heights book with official Brontë Parsonnage stamp and visited the house where Emily and her family lived (optional). Off to Grassingtown, medieval town and filming location of All Creatures Great and Small, through beautiful landscapes of Yorkshire Dales. Then we headed to Aysgarth Falls, Filming location of Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, stunning! Next stop was Wensleydale Creamery where we had a free cheese tasting. Delicious! You might recognize the cheese from Wallace & Gromit 😍 then a last stop at Ribblehead Viaduct viewing point to admire the structure. Our guide Darren was top 5* loved every single minute of this trip and would do it again! No doubt it was my favorite trip of all time - until my next one with Rabbies, that I’m sure and I’m really looking forward 🤩 Thank you so much! Ay-up!!! ❤️

The excursion was very good, the driver was fun and made the trip very interesting; my only complaint is that the reason for this excursion was to go to Haworth to see the Brontë sisters' town. We only had 20 minutes to be in this town, and I don't understand why 40 minutes are spent looking at a viaduct that you can get off the bus in two minutes, take a photo, and continue on your way to be able to calmly enjoy this wonderful little town. I suggest you change the timings because, frankly, it doesn't make sense to spend 40 minutes looking at the same monument, which is a viaduct, instead of using that time in a town with as much history as the Brontë sisters' town.
Reviews: The Yorkshire Dales Tour from York
Guest User2026-07-06
The trip to the Yorkish Dales was lovely. We saw so much if the countryside and our guide was very knowledgeable about the history and flora. He was also very personable and gave good commentary throughout. The trip includes everything I hoped with beautiful countryaide, quaint villages and a castle as well. Great tour - highly recommend!

Convenient meeting place . The bus itself was newer than the transport on an earlier trip which made a huge difference. The guide was thoughtful and good fun. The sights and stops were well co-ordinated and fascinating to see the waterfall. We went for a multi generational father's day treat. Children aged 12 and 14 also loved it.
