Rakuten Mobile was unusable in Thailand. It worked fine in Vietnam, my transit point. I quickly set up the eSIM using the hotel's Wi-Fi. After restarting, it worked immediately. It was back up and running in 3 minutes. Having no internet access while traveling is devastating; it completely destroys your vision.
