We booked on the Arigato food tour just the day before, and met Wes (Wesley), our tour guide, at the meeting point at the agreed time.
He was really personable and friendly, and effortlessly did most of the talking for this business trip of 4 relatively quiet guys, which we were very happy with, making us feel at ease, and getting along with each other. He shared much of himself and his life, and we shared more about ourselves as a result.
The tour itself was fantastic. I won’t go into all the details that are in the description anyway, but suffice to say, the range of restaurants that we ate at, and bars that we drank at, was excellent, and felt entirely authentic. Of all of these, the place that was a hidden gem, and so good that the owner had a handwritten sign scrawled outside an unnoticeable door, and the restaurant was still full, with a waitlist, and the freshest sashimi I’ve ever tasted, was my favourite.
Wes, I’m sorry I took so long to write your review; I’ve been meaning to since I got back. It was the highlight of my trip, and I every one of those five stars was well earned!★

Aki gavee us a very thorough overview of the different classifications of sake, tasting rankings (what all the different +/- numbers mean), along with samples of nine different brands. There was plenty to drink.
Aki also happily veered off topic with us to discuss any number of questions about Japan in general. We had a great conversation and really enjoyed ourselves.
At the end, we asked for a dinner recommendation. Aki called to reserve us a spot at a tiny 8-seat beef omakase restaurant run by his friend. It was tucked away on the 4th floor of a building - we would never have found it in a million years - and it was one of our favorite meals of our whole trip, for a very reasonable price. We’re still dreaming about it
In all, a fantastic experience and would highly recommend. It felt like being hosted by a friend★

Very satisfied with the day trip itinerary. The tour guide will confirm the arrangement with us one day in advance, and the car will pick you up at the door of the hotel on time in the morning. The tour guide along the way is a tour guide, a translator, and a guide. It is very nice and patient. The recommended photo scenic spots are very good, and the local products of Xiaoyutong are also a variety of happy purchases. We temporarily want to adjust the itinerary and it is appropriate to get it done! Next time I come to Tokyo, I will find a tour guide.
