University of Alaska Museum of the North

The University of Alaska Museum of the North is located on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus in the United States, renowned for its systematic and in-depth presentation of Alaska's history, nature, and culture. The building's exterior features white lines and curves, with a simple design reminiscent of a polar igloo. The first floor showcases Alaska's geological structure and permafrost landscapes, featuring polar fossil specimens such as mammoths and bison, and introduces the lifestyles of early indigenous peoples and the construction history of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. Standing in the center of the first floor is the museum's signature exhibit—a taxidermy Alaska brown bear captured in 1950 that stands approximately 2.7m tall. The second floor displays Inuit cold-weather gear, cultural history, and traditional artwork. The museum also features a small immersive room that uses music and lighting to simulate the aurora, allowing visitors to experience the unique atmosphere of the Alaskan landscape.

Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum

The Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum is an antique automobile museum located in Fairbanks, Alaska, United States, established in 2009. The museum houses over 125 rare pre-WWII automobiles, including several one-of-a-kind models that are the only ones left in the world, as well as the first car in Alaska's history, which was hand-built in 1905 by workers who had never seen a car before. Most of the collection is kept in driving condition, making it a true living museum. In addition to automobiles, the museum also houses the largest collection of vintage fashion in the Pacific Northwest, with hundreds of historical costumes displayed alongside vehicles from the same era, vividly illustrating the historical connection between automobiles and fashion trends. Accompanying exhibits use historical photos and archival footage to recreate the unique driving history of early vehicles in Alaska as they traversed glaciers and snowfields.
