Geosea - Geothermal Sea Baths is not just a geothermal bath but an experience that taps into the historical roots of a small fishing town in northern Iceland, which has utilized the Earth's geothermal waters for centuries. It represents a rare combination of mineral-rich seawater and heat from the Earth's core. Perched on a west-facing cliff overlooking Skjálfandi Bay and the Arctic Circle to the north, the baths offer the ultimate vantage point for whale watchers and those seeking the Northern Lights. Visitors can reconnect with and enjoy Iceland's nature in a unique way at Geosea.Husavik · 917m from downtown

The Húsavík Whale Museum is located in the town of Húsavík in northern Iceland. Founded in 1997, it is one of the most important whale research and exhibition institutions in Iceland. The museum is housed in a century-old warehouse and uses real whale skeletons, specimens, and interactive exhibits to systematically introduce the biological habits, ecological status, and conservation status of whales. The exhibits cover a variety of whale species, including humpback whales, blue whales, and sperm whales, with the complete whale skeleton hanging in the main hall being particularly breathtaking. The museum also uses the local whale-watching history of Húsavík as a thread to record the centuries-old connection between these waters and whales.Husavik · 93m from downtown

Salka Whale Watching is located in Husavik, northern Iceland, a destination renowned as one of the best places for whale watching in Europe. The nutrient-rich marine environment of Skjálfandi Bay provides an ideal feeding ground for numerous whale species, with humpback whales and minke whales active here year-round. The bay is also a habitat for large numbers of puffins and seabirds, and this area boasts extremely rich ecological diversity. Cruise boats sail into the open bay, offering the opportunity to observe wild whales up close in their natural environment on the edge of the Arctic Circle. It is a quintessential experience for discovering the marine ecosystem of northern Iceland.Husavik · 141m from downtown

Diamond Beach

Diamond Beach is located in southeastern Iceland, right next to the Glacier lagoon. The ice blocks in the Glacier lagoon originate from the Vatnajökull glacier. After breaking off, they drift into the Glacier lagoon and are then washed onto the black sand beach by the tide, forming ice blocks of various sizes and shapes. Some are as clear and transparent as glass, some are milky white, and others display a deep blue color due to long-term compression of the ice layers. Under the light, these ice blocks look like scattered diamonds, which is how Diamond Beach got its name. The strong contrast between the black volcanic sand and the colorful ice blocks creates a visually striking view, and because the ice blocks constantly washing ashore vary in shape, every visit offers a different experience. Occasionally, you can see harbor seals climbing onto the ice blocks to rest, adding vitality to this magnificent glacial landscape.Iceland · Hornafjordur

Goðafoss Waterfallis located in northern Iceland, right beside Route 1 (the ring road), between Akureyri and Myvatn, and is a classic roadside stop on a self-drive trip around the island. Its name comes from an old Norse story: according to legend, in 999 or 1000 AD, when Iceland decided at the national assembly to convert to Christianity, the lawspeaker Þorgeir Þorkelsson threw the statues of the old Norse gods into this waterfall on his way home to renounce the old faith. The name Goðafoss thus comes from this event and literally means the waterfall of the gods. The waterfall has a drop of more than 10 m and is approx. 30 m wide, with the curtain of water spreading in a semicircular arc and a large rock dividing it into two channels in the middle, giving it the appearance of an open fan. The water plunges over a basalt cliff with a powerful flow and a thundering roar. On sunny days, rainbows are often visible in the mist.Thingeyjarsveit · 41.6km from Husavik

Blue Ice Cave

The Blue Ice Cave is a natural ice cave that forms under Iceland's Vatnajökull Glacier every winter, serving as a unique and rare natural view during the Icelandic winter. The color and shape of the ice cave are ever-changing. Not only does the shape differ from year to year, but even within a single day, it can display varying shades of blue depending on the weather and light, making every cave one-of-a-kind. This mysterious blue color comes from the ice layer's special filtering and reflection of light: the denser the ice, the more thoroughly it absorbs red light, resulting in a deeper and purer blue. Sunlight refracts through the ice into the cave, illuminating the interior with a dreamlike, blue-purple view.Iceland · Hornafjordur

This is said to be one of the best places in Iceland to go whale watching🐳, but I get seasick so this kind of activity never attracts me haha This small museum next to it caught my eye. It is so small that it looks like a private museum. However, after this trip to Northern Europe, I have seen many similar mini museums, so I am not surprised There is just an aisle inside with about 4-5 whale skeletons on both sides. It is accompanied by some simple pictures and text descriptions. It is quite good for popular science education.

Husavik Bay has a very beautiful shore. An exciting whale watching trip. My friend who went whale watching with me in Iceland sent me photos of the whales we saw that day. It was a surprise! Looking at the pleasant scenery really made me feel happy!

Like falling diamonds from stars, they scatter on the icy beach. This cool beach is like nature's canvas, covered with sparkling diamonds, reflecting the dazzling light, just like the starry sky at night, so beautiful that people are intoxicated by this picturesque scenery.

The waterfall is located on Iceland's Highway 1. The surrounding area is covered with green grass in summer and snow in winter. The scenery is charming and fascinating. The waterfall is shaped like a hoof and the water falls straight down!

It's so beautiful that it's worth the 3-hour round trip hike. I'll definitely check it out next time I go to Iceland.
