Things to do in Lipu

Visiting during the off-peak season between the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays made for a particularly pleasant experience. Our family of three explored the cave, and several times we saw very few other tourists; the flow of people was minimal. Many travel guides mention that crowded caves can feel stuffy and poorly ventilated, significantly diminishing the experience. This time, however, we didn't encounter this problem at all. We didn't have to chase after large groups or fight for good photo spots, allowing us to leisurely appreciate the stalactite formations. Caves rely heavily on lighting, and Silver Cave does this very well. The otherwise ordinary rocks, enhanced by the lighting, instantly become visually appealing and story-telling, fully showcasing the wonders of underground karst topography. Free audio guides are provided upon entry, automatically providing commentary at the corresponding illuminated locations, eliminating the need for a separate guide and making it convenient and hassle-free. The walkways inside the cave are generally easy to navigate. Given the cave environment, there are some dripping water areas, making the floor slightly slippery, but not severely. With elderly people or young children, a little careful stepping is sufficient for a normal visit. 🚕Taxi Tips: We took taxis both ways to and from Yangshuo. Online reviews say that taking a taxi back from Silver Cave is risky, and I experienced it firsthand: the first driver called to try and bypass the platform to charge extra, more than ten yuan more than the platform price. I canceled and rebooked. The second ride was at the normal platform price. I suggest everyone stick to booking through the platform and avoid negotiating prices privately. In Yangshuo, you mostly see the surface karst peaks and forests, but caves are another form of karst landform. If you have time, it's definitely worth visiting to experience the unique and spectacular scenery of underground caves.

Ruyi Peak was one of the highlights of our Yangshuo trip! The scenery was beautiful, especially towards sunset. The cable car ride gave us amazing panoramic views of the mountains and surrounding countryside.

The scenery is nice, interesting and fun, cost-effective, and overall superb. It is a very cost-effective attraction in Guilin. The price is not expensive, and the service process is very comfortable

Fengyu Cave, renowned for its "one cave piercing nine mountains, ten miles of underground river," is a long-established 4A-level karst cave in Lipu. The cave boasts a consistently cool temperature, magnificent halls, and stalactites in countless shapes and forms. A combined land and water tour allows visitors to hike and admire the unique rock formations, while a boat trip along the underground river provides an immersive experience of karst creation. Compared to more popular caves, it's less crowded, offering a quiet and comfortable experience at a good value, making it ideal for escaping the summer heat.

It's very sunny, so go early to avoid the crowds and sun. The journey from Jinlong Bridge to the old wharf, involving 9 dams, is too long and unnecessary. The whole trip takes about 1.6 hours, and the dam rushing isn't as exciting as you might imagine. So, try a shorter 4-dam trip, which takes about an hour. There are also many round-trip options available, making it convenient for self-driving tours.

Taking advantage of my free time, I set foot on this land, measuring this ten-mile scroll with my own footsteps, immersing myself in the green mountains, clear waters, and idyllic fields, and gaining an unforgettable natural journey. The Ten-Mile Gallery is not an isolated attraction, but a scenic corridor stretching for several miles, connected by National Highway 321, linking karst peaks, clear streams, and rustic fields into a flowing landscape scroll. The most enjoyable way to experience this landscape is undoubtedly to rent a bicycle and leisurely ride along the designated scenic routes. No need to rush, no need to worry about time; just let the gentle breeze caress your face and watch the scenery unfold before you, truly experiencing the exquisite feeling of "traveling through a painting." During the ride, every sight is a surprise. On both sides of the road, karst peaks rise abruptly from the ground in countless shapes, each unique and lifelike. Some resemble camels crossing a river, standing quietly on the bank as if about to wade through; others look like golden cats emerging from their dens, lively and playful, drawing your attention; still others are like fairies descending to earth, their graceful forms enhanced by the swirling clouds. These magnificent peaks, sculpted by nature's artistry, stand out clearly against the blue sky, each with its own unique story, making you marvel at the wonders of nature. In this gallery of natural beauty, the Yulong River is the most vibrant embellishment. This river, hailed as the "Little Li River," boasts emerald-green waters that are crystal clear, reflecting the verdant mountains, trees, and rice paddies on both banks. A gentle breeze ripples the surface, causing the mountain and tree shadows to sway, creating a scene reminiscent of a watercolor painting. Reaching the Gongnong Bridge offers an even more spectacular viewpoint, where the Yulong River and Jinbao River converge. Bamboo rafts glide gently by, the crisp, melodious sounds of the raftmen's poles mingling with the gentle murmur of the flowing water, composing a natural symphony. Standing on the bridge and gazing into the distance, the mountains are shrouded in mist, the water exudes a gentle charm, and the fields are scattered with wisps of smoke rising from chimneys—a tranquil pastoral landscape that instantly soothes any restlessness. The scenery along the way combines the majestic beauty of nature with the warm warmth of human life. A thousand-year-old banyan tree stands silently, its branches and leaves flourishing like a canopy, witnessing the passage of time and carrying the classic memories of the folk song "Liu Sanjie." The cobblestone path beneath it seems to still echo with the melodious folk songs. In Butterfly Spring, colorful butterflies flutter and dance, creating a picturesque scene against the backdrop of strangely shaped rocks and mountains, making one feel as if they have stepped into a fairytale world. Ancient villages are scattered throughout, with white walls and black tiles, the sounds of chickens and dogs filling the air. Villagers work in the fields, children play in the alleys, and the vibrant atmosphere adds warmth and intimacy to this landscape. Slow down and walk along every inch of the Ten-Mile Gallery, and you will feel a unique beauty. In spring, the rice paddies are a vibrant green, wildflowers bloom freely, and life abounds; in summer, the trees provide shade, the river water is cool, and the heat dissipates.

This is a man-made landscape. The so-called Shanzhai is a tourist attraction. If you are traveling independently, the possibility of coming here is extremely small. The scenery is OK, the interaction is OK, and it mainly sells silver and jewelry.

If you visit Yangshuo, you shouldn’t miss West Street (Xi Jie), a historic street with a history of more than 1,000 years.At night, the street becomes very lively, filled with numerous restaurants, bars, and cafés. It’s a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.
