Yuandi Village

Yuandi Village in Shangyang Town is a large administrative village in Longquan City. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was a renowned landlord village, and it still preserves 28 ancient residential buildings from that era, covering over 20,000 square meters. Simple and imposing Ming Dynasty pillars, intricately carved Qing Dynasty corbels, and doors and windows influenced by Western styles are found everywhere. Village Party Secretary Xu Dayou told reporters that Yuandi Village has produced many talented people since modern times. The densely packed ancient residences are a major feature of Yuandi Village. Upon entering the village, one is greeted by lofty white walls, dark blue roof tiles, ornate ridge decorations, and carved beams and painted rafters, all showcasing the architectural characteristics of Zhejiang mountain villages; it is a model of ancient residences in Longquan. The entire village is nestled against mountains and streams, situated within a trumpet-shaped valley. A belt-shaped canal that serves for water storage, irrigation, fire prevention, and daily water supply and drainage encircles the village. The upper part of the village is exemplified by the former residence of Xu Yangshan, all of which follow the Si Shui Gui Tang style.Longquan · 27.7km from downtown

Yonghe Bridge is located in Anren Town, Longquan City, 40 kilometers away from the city. It is a well-preserved and longer covered bridge in Zhejiang Province. The bridge is a covered house bridge of wood and stone structure, with a total length of 125.7 meters, 5 stone piers under it, 4 holes, 42 covered houses on the bridge, and double eaves roof. Beware that the roof rises to the top of Xieshi, and the wing corners are raised. There are bridgeheads at both ends of the Yonghe Bridge, each with 27 stone steps. The bridge adopts the construction method of tube support and cantilever combination. The bridge house is carved with beams and painted buildings, and the eaves and bucket arches are stacked. Yonghe Bridge was first built in the first year of Chenghua in Ming Dynasty (1465) and named Yongning. During the Qing Dynasty (1644-1661), it was destroyed by fire. In the fifty-seventh year of Emperor Kangxi (1718), it was rebuilt and renamed today; in the fifth year of Xianfeng (1855), the second pier was swept away by floods, and it was rebuilt in six years.Longquan · 20km from downtown

The White Cloud Cliffs are located on West Street in Longquan in Lishui. The forests, waterfalls, and ravines within the scenic area are utterly beautiful, whilst the landscape of precipices, rural scenery and thousand-year-old residences is also extremely unique. From a bird's eye view, the White Cloud Cliffs resemble a pocket. The surroundings are high mountains, with a valley in the middle. The Yanzhang Creek and the Baishui Ravine converge here. Bubbling up out of the "pocket" towards the city is the Longquan Stream. In addition to this, the paths here have gentle steps, suitable for a relaxed walk in the tranquil forest. If there have just been heavy rains, then when walking in the verdant mountain forest the air is pure and fresh, and there are wildflowers and wild mushrooms everywhere embellishing the green on every side. It is truly eye candy.Longquan · 5.8km from downtown

West Lake

West Lake is undoubtedly the epitome of Hangzhou's beauty. The famous "Ten scenes of West Lake" surround its shores, where nature and culture complement each other, forming the core area of Hangzhou tourism. You don't need to visit every attraction - instead, spend half a day or a full day strolling along the lake. However you choose to enjoy it, the experience will surely lift your spirits. West Lake is the core attraction of Hangzhou, surrounded by clouds and mountains on three sides and the city on one side. The Su Causeway and Bai Causeway stretch across the lake, dividing it into several water areas. The lakeside scenery is highlighted by the "Ten Scenes of West Lake" from the Southern Song Dynasty, along with the later "New Ten Scenes" and "Three Additional Scenes," featuring over a hundred attractions along the shore and mountains. Pavilions, temples, pagodas, gardens, causeways, and islands complement the distant mountains and nearby waters, while legends like the Broken Bridge where Lady White Snake met Xu Xian add a layer of storytelling to the landscape. West Lake extends east from Songmuchang in Hangzhou and the north of Baolu Road turning to Shaoniangong Square, passing Baisha Road, Huancheng West Road, Hubin Road, and Nanshan Road to the south of Wansong Ridge, covering all attractions including Wu Mountain, Ziyang Mountain, and Yunju Mountain. To the south, it stretches from Gulou along the eastern foothills of Wu Mountain, Ziyang Mountain, and Yunju Mountain, passing Fengshanmen and Fenghuangshan Road, then following the West Lake water diversion channel to the north bank of the Qiantang River, turning to the Coral Sand Reservoir and ending north of Liufangling. To the west, it runs from Liufangling, Zhugan Mountain, Jiuqu Ridge, and Mingren Ridge to Meiren Peak, Beigaofeng, Lingfeng Mountain, and east of the ridge line of Laohe Mountain. To the north, it follows the foothills of Laohe Mountain (west wall of Zhejiang University), turns 30 m north of Qingzhiwu Road, connects to Yugu Road, Zhejiang University Road, and Shuguang Road, ending south of Songmuchang. West Lake has over 100 attractions, renowned for its "Ten scenes of West Lake", "New ten scenes of West Lake" and "Three reviews · Ten scenes of West Lake". West Lake overview You can explore West Lake on foot, by cruise, on electric bikes, via self-drive, or by riding. Among these, electric bikes are the most convenient and effortless option, with hop-on-hop-off sightseeing vehicles circling the entire lake. Riding along the lakeshore is romantic and leisurely, with many public bike rental spots available. For a boat tour, there are nearly 10 docks around the lake offering various vessels and routes. We highly recommend taking a cruise to Three Pools Mirroring the Moon at the lake center while enjoying the scenic views. Alternatively, you can hail a hand-rowed boat for a more flexible experience with a boatman guiding your tour. North line scenery The north shore of West Lake gathers quite a few attractions, usually starting from the remnant snow on broken bridge at the northeast corner and heading west all the way to Yuewang Temple. You can walk along Bai Causeway to Solitary Hill, visiting cultural attractions like Xiling Seal Engravers' Society, Zhejiang Provincial Museum, Chinese Seal Art Museum, and Zhongshan Park's Crane Pavilion. Enjoy authentic West Lake vinegar fish at Louwailou Restaurant, then cross Xiling Bridge to leave the island - Yuewang Temple and Breeze-ruffled lotus at Quyuan Garden are just a short distance away. If it's a summer day with strong sunlight, it is recommended to stroll along Beishan road, hiding under the dense shade of trees to admire the curve of Broken bridge and the swaying weeping willows on Bai causeway opposite. There are many entrances along the way leading to Precious stone hill, where you can hike for views, and descend to reach Yuewang temple. Yuewang square has many small shops for snacks, and the Impression West Lake show here in the evening is also worth watching. If you have ample time and energy, you can also head to Su causeway from here for a walk to enjoy the panoramic view of West Lake. Southeast coast (Lakeside-Nanshan Road) Another area with a concentration of attractions is the Hubin Road-Nanshan Road along the southeastern coast. Hubin Road is located at the junction between Hangzhou's urban area and the attraction, offering views of West Lake, a dock for West Lake cruises, and the iconic music fountain. The advantage of Hubin Road is its quick access from the attraction to the downtown business district, making it suitable for travelers with a tight itinerary to make a short stop. Head south from Hubin road and walk along Nanshan road, where you can visit attractions like Orioles singing in the willows, Long bridge, Leifeng pagoda, Evening bell at Nanping hill, and Viewing fish at flower harbor. The distance between adjacent attractions is not far, so you can walk or take a sightseeing bus or public transport, which are also convenient. You can arrange a day to visit a few of them according to your preference. Among them, Leifeng pagoda and Evening bell at Nanping hill can be visited in the evening. Listening to the bell at Jingci temple and overlooking the night view of West lake from Leifeng pagoda are both great experiences.China · Hangzhou

I drove to Longquan Mountain Scenic Area by self-driving navigation. I started to take the cable car at 8:30. It was very stable when I climbed up slowly. It looked very new. I felt very safe for someone who was a little afraid of heights. Then I took the scenic shuttle bus and got off at Huangmaojiandian. It was early in the morning and there were not many tourists. Now it is the off-season, so there is no need to queue up, which is very powerful. I started climbing. Today's hike was relatively easy. I like the steps here. They are very neatly paved and gentle. It took about an hour to reach the highest peak in Jiangsu and Zhejiang at about 400 meters. I walked and stopped, and the scenery was beautiful along the way. Plants such as azaleas and red bean trees are now in bloom, and many bees are collecting honey. The large tracts of Huangshan pine are more spectacular as you go up. Standing on the commanding heights, you can see all the small mountains. As far as you can see, there are rolling mountains, blue sky and white clouds. The temperature on the top of the mountain is only a dozen degrees. Don't be too cool in summer. I didn't choose to return by the same route, but walked towards the source of the Oujiang River. It was a different scenery. I passed by Fengyang Lake, which was very nice. I left the scenic area at about 2 o'clock. If there were more people, I would have played for a whole day. In short, it was worth the trip. I recommend everyone to go there once if they have the chance.

I went to Xitou Village for the first time in 2020 and was attracted by the quietness and simplicity there. I went to Xitou Village again in 2022. Because of the repeated epidemic, there were not many people. Walking into the village, local specialties are sold all the way. Every family is similar. Because there is not much rain this year, the water in the stream is small, so you can go in the water at noon. But it is very cold at night, so you have to wear a thick coat.

The ticket price is too expensive; 50 yuan is the most it should be. The Jiuqu Yunhuan Scenic Area is a meticulously crafted terraced field for tourists; it's okay for taking photos. Qixingdun is best viewed from a distance. The Yunhe Terraces can't compare to the Yuanyang Terraces in Yunnan. Just take a casual look.

During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, sword-making master Ou Yezi forged three famous swords at the foot of Qinxi Mountain in Longquan: Longyuan, Tai'a, and Gongbu. Longquan was named after the sword. It was originally called Longyuan and was renamed Longquan in the Tang Dynasty. Longquan City has a civilization history of more than 5,000 years, with sword style and porcelain rhyme, surrounded by water on three sides and mountains on four sides. In the depths of each mountain, there are several such small mountain villages. Due to inconvenient transportation and lack of supplies, they have always maintained the most primitive state, isolated from the world, like a fairyland on earth, just like a paradise on earth. Yunwu Ancient Village is one of them Yunwu Ancient Village has a history of thousands of years. Later, it was renamed Xiazhang because of the ancient camphor tree at the entrance of the village. Guan Shifu, a famous scholar who lived in seclusion here in the Song Dynasty, once described it to Emperor Renzong at that time: "The white clouds in the full valley are endless, and the bright moon in the pool is fishing without a trace", outlining the boundless pastoral artistic conception of the village.

Huangmaojian is so beautiful after sunrise! Standing on the top of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, you can see all the small mountains. The surrounding mountains are covered by the morning mist, which is hazy and beautiful! The mountain breeze is gentle, and the birds are chirping, which is refreshing!

My second visit to West Lake was great; the boat tour was excellent. The dock was easy to find, the staff were very friendly, provided clear explanations, and helped with any issues. There were also sightseeing buses, which were nice but a bit pricey. Taking the boat tour and then walking around was both perfectly fine.
