Holland Square in Malacca is a must-visit Instagrammable spot. The striking red colonial buildings stand out against the blue sky and white clouds, making for great photo opportunities. It's conveniently located on foot, not far from Jonker Street. The square itself isn't large; half an hour is enough to stroll around and take pictures. It's very popular with tourists. Nearby are fountains and an old church, offering a chance to soak up the historical atmosphere.

It's so different than all the other part of the city!You get the feeling that you are in a movie set, as the square is way different than anything you have seen in Malaysia. Enjoy it in the day, but in the night also as everything is open, night market arround the corner and split in 2 parts, one it's indian and on the other side is chinees

Went on a weekday at 6pm. Wasn't crowded at all. Ticket per (non-malay) person was 31 for evening slot so we bought out tickets standing there on Trip.com for 44 total for 2 pax and they redeemed it for us at the counter. Ride is short probably 5 mins, does a 180 turn total 3 to 4 times. Its a bit pricey definitely. Going at sunset time is best.

St. Paul's Hill is located in the heart of the Malacca Old Town World Heritage Site, near the Dutch Stadthuys and the Santiago Gate. It was once an important high ground of the Sultanate, and Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty designated it as the "National Mountain." The hill is not high; a short walk of about ten minutes up the steps leads to the summit. The view from the top is excellent, overlooking Malacca city, the Malacca River, and the Straits, making it a popular spot for sunset photography. Several small museums and the remains of a Dutch cemetery are also located nearby. At the top is St. Paul's Church (Gereja St. Paul), originally built by the Portuguese in 1521 as a church for Our Lady. In 1548, it was handed over to the Jesuits, where St. Francis Xavier preached. His body was temporarily buried here in 1553. After the Dutch occupation in 1641, it was renamed St. Paul's Church, later used as a cemetery and fortress; bullet holes are still visible in the outer walls. It is now a magnificent, roofless stone ruin. There is a white statue of Xavier in front of the church (missing his right hand); inside are scattered ancient tombstones inscribed with Portuguese/Latin; admission is free, and opening hours are the same as in the old town; the building itself is one of the oldest European colonial relics in Southeast Asia.

This is the most lively street in Melaka, and at night, this place comes to life. It's close to Hard Rock Cafe, and there are many street artists whom you can pose photos with. The street along Jonker Street has many tourist attraction sites and sculptures. Highly recommend for a great night out

Baoshan Pavilion, commonly known as the Three Treasures Temple, the Three Possessions Temple, etc., is one of the oldest Chinese temples in Malaysia, with a history of more than 200 years, located at the foot of the Three Possessions Mountain in Malacca. Baoshan Pavilion was built by the Malacca Chinese Kapitan (Chinese leader) Cai Shizhang in the 60th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1795), with the purpose of providing a place for the Chinese who worshipped at the Three Possessions Mountain during the Qingming Festival to shelter from the wind and rain. In the 20th century, some people used Baoshan Pavilion to commemorate Zheng He, the Three Possessions eunuch of the Ming Dynasty in the 15th century, and began to have the wrong saying that Baoshan Pavilion was built to commemorate Zheng He. This Zheng He legend even spread to China. Since the Three Possessions eunuch Zheng He is also called the Three Possessions eunuch, some people also call the Three Possessions Mountain the Three Possessions Mountain. Some people also said nonsense that the Three Possessions Temple was built by Zheng He, so they randomly called this temple the Zheng He Temple. In fact, the establishment of Baoshan Pavilion has nothing to do with Zheng He, and Zheng He is not mentioned on the stone tablet of its temple construction. Baoshan Pavilion mainly worships Dabogong (Fude Zhengshen), and also worships Tianhou Shengmu, Guanyin Bodhisattva, Nezha San Taizi, etc. In addition, Cai Shizhang's tablet is also placed in the temple. Baoshan Pavilion contains a rich Chinese architectural style, such as hanging flower columns, brackets, hanging fish, etc., as well as swallowtail ridges and five-element gables popular in southern Fujian. There are stone tablets from the Qianlong and Jiaqing years in Baoshan Pavilion. The stone tablet in the 60th year of Qianlong (1795) records the history of the establishment of Baoshan Pavilion. The headline of the stele is in seal script and the content is in regular script (Figure 2). The stone tablet in the 14th year of Guangxu (1888) records a crisis encountered by Sanbaoshan in the Bingyin year of Tongzhi (1866). With the efforts of the Chinese in Malacca, Sanbaoshan, as a Chinese cemetery, was able to get rid of the crisis. There is a stone statue of Zheng He behind the main hall of Baoshan Pavilion Next to Baoshan Pavilion is the Sanbao Well. There were several wells around, but now there are only two. The largest well is called Wangjing or Hang Libao Well in Malay (Figure 5). It is said that it was dug by Malacca Sultan Mansur Shah for his Chinese wife Princess Hang Libao in the 15th century of the Malacca Dynasty. Many Chinese believe that it was dug by Zheng He in the 15th century. The historical truth remains to be verified, but it can be speculated that it is an ancient well from the 15th or 16th century. It is a Malay legend that the Malacca Sultan married a Chinese princess. There was no Princess Hang Libao in Chinese history, and there was no record of a Ming Dynasty princess marrying a Malacca Sultan. During the Portuguese colonial period, Johor soldiers poisoned the well in 1551, killing 200 Portuguese soldiers. During the Dutch colonial period, in order to ensure the safety of the well water, the Dutch built a wall around the well and stationed soldiers. Next to the Sam Po Well is the Anti-Japanese Martyrs Monument, which was established in 1947 to commemorate the Chinese who were massacred by the Japanese army in Malacca during World War II. On the monument are four large characters "Zhongzhen Zushi" written by the then Chinese leader Chiang Kai-shek. The bones of countless victims are buried here. This place has a long history.
