The Curonian Spit was formed by strong winds and excessive logging that caused this dune to be formed by the waves of the Baltic Sea constantly surging up the coast, and on the other side by the Curonian Lagoon. It was listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Landscapes in 2000 due to its unique landscape, with the northern half belonging to Lithuania and the southern part to Russia.Nida · 2.6km from Neringa

Curonian Spit National Park is located in Klaipeda county, Lithuania, and is a unique nature reserve that spans across Lithuania and the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia. The Curonian Spit is a long, narrow sand dune peninsula that stretches approx. 98 km, separating the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea, and is one of the longest spits in the world. This national park is famous for its spectacular natural views and rich biodiversity. The sand dunes on the spit were formed thousands of years ago by the combined action of wind and seawater, with higher dunes reaching up to 60 m. The park's ecosystem includes sand dunes, forests, wetlands, and grasslands, which are home to numerous plant and animal species, some of which are endangered and endemic. The Curonian Spit is also an important stopover for migratory birds, attracting a large number of birdwatchers every year. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities at Curonian Spit National Park, including hiking, cycling, birdwatching, and beach activities. The park features multiple trails and cycling paths, making it easy for visitors to explore the natural views and wildlife.Juodkrante · 27.1km from Neringa

Nida is a city in western Lithuania, close to Lithuania and the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad. It has a population of 1,650 people. Although the population here is not large, the people are very friendly. I remember that everyone I met in the town was very friendly. The town faces the sea and has a lot of sand dunes.

The Curonian Spit National Park in Klaipeda, Lithuania is located in the northwest. It was established in 1991 and is jointly governed by Russia. It was listed as a World Heritage Site in 2000. This narrow strip of sand is known as the "Sahara of Lithuania". The sea breeze and tides have carved out the flowing sand dunes. One side is adjacent to the Baltic Sea and the other side is connected to the lagoon. The forests and wetlands are interwoven into a diverse ecology. The colorful wooden houses of the town of Nida are scattered in the park. Walking among them, you can enjoy the unique scenery of the integration of nature and humanity.
