Kegon Falls is a waterfall located in Nikko National Park in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. It comes from Lake Chuzenji and is connected to the Otani River, one of the tributaries of the Kinugawa River. The reason for the formation of Kegon Falls is that the water pressure of Lake Chuzenji is very high, causing water leakage at the bottom of the lake, and the water flows down the valley to form a waterfall. Kegon Falls is known as the "three major waterfalls in Japan". Designated as a national scenic spot of Japan in 1931

The vermilion Sacred Bridge, like a bow suspended over the azure waters, is the solemn prelude to the Nikko Mountain landscape. Autumn is the best time to visit—the bridge's crimson hue intertwines with the scarlet hues of the surrounding forests in the play of light and shadow, while the cool, clear Otani River flows beneath, carrying fallen leaves and shards of sunlight. Standing before the bridge, the wind scatters vibrant colors across the treetops, as if this sacred bridge connects not only the two banks but also the human world with the secluded, sacred realm of the mountains. The bridge pillars, firmly rooted in the rushing water, bear the marks of time like rust, silently recounting four centuries of weathering. The moment your footsteps creak on the wooden planks, you feel as if you are crossing not just a bridge, but a journey from the hustle and bustle to the tranquility of late autumn, a journey towards the distant, divine time of the temple bells.

Good experience. Just be careful if you ordered the ticket online, could not change the voucher at the park’s entrance office. Have to go to another train station to do the exchange. I didn’t read the instructions carefully. Lesson learned.

Chuzenji Lake - Japan's highest natural lake - in the autumn leaves season, the lake reflects the surrounding mountains and autumn leaves, forming a beautiful picture. Chuzenji Lake, also known as the Sea of Happiness (Satsu-no- umi), is located in Nikko National Park, Tochigi Prefecture, Honshu, Japan. The lake covers an area of 11.62 square kilometers, a circumference of 25 kilometers, an altitude of 1,269 meters, and a depth of 163 meters. The lake was formed by the volcanic eruption of Mount Nantai about 25,000 years ago. The autumn leaves season is beautiful~

There's two main things I want to say about Ryuzu Falls. First of all, it's very beautiful with red leaves and definitely one of the best things in Nikko if you're coming in autumn season. The second thing is unfortunately I had seen the photos online of it's peak colors, and set my expectations very high and even though it was very beautiful it wasn't as beautiful as some of the photos posted by others.

After visiting Toshogu Shrine, you can walk to Futarasan Shrine in about 10 minutes. It is a must-visit attraction if you come to Nikko. After walking, there is a station right at the entrance of Futarasan Shrine and you can go back to Nikko Station.
