John F. Kennedy Space Center

9.3
4.6/5
502 reviews
The John F. Kennedy Space Center is located on Merritt Island along the east coast of Florida, USA. It is a NASA manned space launch site named in honor of President Kennedy, who proposed the moon landing initiative. The Apollo spacecraft that sent astronauts to the moon and all space shuttles were launched from here, and it remains an active spaceport for current missions. The core area open to the public is the visitors center: the Rocket Garden displays actual rockets from the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs; the space shuttle Atlantis is suspended with its cargo bay doors open, surrounded by dozens of interactive exhibits and a shuttle launch simulator; the Gateway deep-space exhibit hall features a flown Falcon Heavy booster suspended overhead, while the IMAX theater screens space-themed films year-round. Taking a bus past NASA's gates into the working area is a unique experience that sets this place apart from ordinary aerospace museums. The bus passes by the massive aircraft assembly building and stops at an elevated viewing platform overlooking launch pad 39, where you might even spot an active rocket on the pad if you're lucky. Along the way, the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge is home to frequent sightings of alligators and bald eagles. Another stop on the bus route is the Apollo/Saturn V Center, where a full-scale Saturn V rocket over 100 m long is displayed. You can relive the countdown to the Apollo 8 launch in the firing room theater, watch a reenactment of the Apollo 11 moon landing in the lunar theater, and even touch a real moon rock. It's recommended to schedule the bus tour early after entering to avoid missing the departure time slots for the core area. The visitors center also hosts year-round meet-and-greets with astronauts, where you can listen to veteran astronauts share their space experiences and ask them questions. △ It consists of a work area, a launch center, and a travelers center. The travelers center houses multiple museums and two IMAX theaters. △ You can visit the work area and launch site to learn the story behind rocket launches, and also experience the feeling of Apollo 11's takeoff and landing. △ Various exhibits also allow you to learn about the history of American aerospace and related knowledge.Brevard County · 68.2km from Orlando

Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is a large-scale nature and animal conservation-themed park within Walt Disney World Resort, featuring zones modeled after habitats like Africa, Asia, and Pandora. At its center stands the iconic "Tree of life" sculpture, carved with hundreds of animal figures and housing a Zootopia-themed 4D show, serving as a landmark visible shortly after entering. In the Africa section, Kilimanjaro safaris offers open-vehicle rides through simulated African savannas where giraffes, elephants, rhinos and other animals may move near the vehicle, with an on-site guide explaining animal behaviors. After disembarking, explore the Gorilla Falls trail on foot for close-up views of gorillas, hippos and more, or enjoy the Festival of the Lion King show at Harambe theater - a Lion King-themed performance blending song, dance and acrobatic puppetry. In the Asia section, Expedition Everest features a Himalayan mountain backdrop where trains climb and plunge through the terrain, including a backward dash and encounter with the legendary Yeti, making it the park's premier thrill coaster. The adjacent Maharajah Jungle Trek trail showcases Asian animals like Bengal tigers and Komodo dragons. Pandora: The World of Avatar recreates the alien rainforest and floating mountains from the movie. Avatar Flight of Passage simulates the flying experience of riding a banshee over Pandora, while Na'vi River Journey takes you on a boat ride through a bioluminescent rainforest at night. To learn about the behind-the-scenes work of animal conservation, you can also take a small train to the animal conservation station in the park and observe the daily care routines of the animals through viewing windows.Bay Lake · 28.8km from Orlando

Magic Kingdom Park

Magic Kingdom Park is located in Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida, USA. Opened in 1971, it is the resort's flagship theme park featuring classic Disney animations and fairy-tale ambiance. Centered around Cinderella Castle, the park unfolds like spokes of a wheel with six themed areas: Main Street U.S.A., Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Liberty Square, and Tomorrowland. The castle's design draws inspiration from European landmarks like Germany's Neuschwanstein Castle, with its iconic blue spires creating postcard-perfect views. The "Partners Statue" of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse holding hands in front of the castle is a popular photo spot. While many assume it's just for kids, attractions cater to all ages: Fantasyland's Peter Pan's Flight and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train exude fairy-tale charm, with the mine train remaining perennially popular. Tomorrowland's Space Mountain is an indoor roller coaster racing through cosmic darkness, while Tron Lightcycle Power Run lets riders speed on motorcycle-style vehicles. Adventureland's Pirates of the Caribbean and Jungle Cruise uphold classics, Frontierland's Tiana's Bayou Adventure celebrates The Princess and the Frog, and Liberty Square's Haunted Mansion is famed for its humorous special effects. The afternoon Festival of Fantasy Parade starts in Frontierland, passing Cinderella Castle's plaza en route to Main Street U.S.A., featuring Disney characters like Cinderella, Elsa, and Snow White with the Seven Dwarfs waving to visitors—highlighted by Maleficent's fire-breathing dragon float and Mickey & Minnie's hot air balloon finale. Evenings dazzle too: Cinderella Castle becomes a canvas for the "Happily Ever After" fireworks and light show, while the Disney Starlight nighttime parade illuminates Main Street with twinkling lights. Tips: Self-drive vehicles park outside the park—guests transfer via monorail or ferry across the lake, offering unique castle views. Expect long queues for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Tron Lightcycle Power Run—hit these first. For fireworks, secure castle-front spots early, while Main Street offers ideal panoramic castle photos.Bay Lake · 23.8km from Orlando

What travellers say about Orlando

The park was the kids' favorite and most anticipated. We flew to Orlando specifically for it and, like special forces, walked at least 20,000 steps a day. They were very happy and got to experience all the attractions they wanted to do, some even twice. It's quite different from the North Loop in many ways.

I visited Universal Orlando Resort with my daughter, and we had an unforgettable time together! The attractions were exciting, the atmosphere was amazing, and the Harry Potter areas were absolutely magical. Some queues were quite long, but the experience was worth it. We enjoyed every moment and made wonderful memories together. A fantastic place for a mother-daughter trip! Highly recommended!

It's much cheaper than buying tickets on-site, and you don't need to collect tickets; you can just scan a code to enter. The experience is still quite impressive; several of the flight experiences are comparable to Universal Studios and Disneyland, but the wait times are much shorter. I drove there, and there was plenty of parking right at the park entrance. After the park closed, the nearby restaurants were quite crowded, but the ambiance was nice, with a sea view.

Another great trip to this park. Lots of variety to interest all members of the family. My favourites were E.T.Adventure & Minion Mayhem. Lots of opportunities to see your favourite characters too. Interaction with Shrek & Donkey adds a fun element to your day.

Universal Studios' newly opened park is divided into four areas: Harry Potter, Mario, How to Train Your Dragon, and Dark Fantasy. Hotels staying at Universal Studios can enter the park early, but Express Passes require a separate ticket. The Ministry of Magic in Harry Potter and the broken-track roller coaster in Mario are the most popular attractions; it's recommended to rush in at the top of the gates with an Express Pass. The Ministry of Magic area is absolutely stunning, a 1:1 recreation of the scene. The smoke effects upon entering the Ministry of Magic, and the ride itself, are all worth making a special trip for. The Mario area is similar to the one in Osaka; those who haven't ridden it should definitely experience it, while those who have can consider it after Harry Potter. The Dark Fantasy and How to Train Your Dragon areas feature less mainstream IPs. The roller coaster in the How to Train Your Dragon area is worth trying, and the food in the park is more suited to Chinese tastes. Overall, it's a very exciting park and worth spending a whole day exploring.

Love the lion king show, safari and the avatar ride! Not too crowded when visited in September. Avatar queue was insane though, queued for about 2hours. Food options limited and not that great. Would be great if they have more finger food and drink carts around. Such as hotdogs, burgers, nuggets nacho fries etc. Another perplex point is why are there no umbrellas for sale? Was rainy season could really do with some umbrellas. Great revenue source for the park too!

Ocean Park is quite fun for elementary school students, but the weather is just too hot. All the rides and attractions are outdoors, and apart from the song and dance show, the animal shows are also outdoors. It's just too hot.

Magic kingdom is certainly just that— magical! The crew members are incredible. So helpful, so polite. They always answer your questions and can direct you to anywhere you need to go. For an older crowd, this particular park isn’t a 5/5 just because it is build for the kiddos. The best ride in my opinion is Space Mountain for older riders. The scenery is exquisite and the characters nail it! Recommend!

Orlando Alligator Park's main attraction is its abundance of alligators! Upon entering, you'll be overwhelmed by the sheer number of alligators, large and small—some lying down, some swimming—the density is incredible. The biggest surprise was seeing a rare albino alligator; I heard there are only a few dozen in the world, so witnessing it was truly an honor! However, the park's activities are rather limited; besides watching alligators, there are a few ordinary animal shows, which doesn't compensate for the monotony. Those who aren't particularly fascinated by alligators should probably avoid this park.
