We took the kids to a nature camp in the countryside to make insect specimens. Our guide was a natural science student who knelt down and helped the kids find ladybugs and catch butterflies. He explained things vividly and in an easy-to-understand way, and he never rushed us. He could spend half an hour with the kids watching ants in the grass. The finished specimens could be packed up and taken home. The kids keep them on their desks every day, and the impression is much deeper than just looking at insects in a book. It's a great value to have a fun day and learn something new.
