North line scenery The north shore of West Lake gathers quite a few attractions, usually starting from the remnant snow on broken bridge at the northeast corner and heading west all the way to Yuewang Temple. You can walk along Bai Causeway to Solitary Hill, visiting cultural attractions like Xiling Seal Engravers' Society, Zhejiang Provincial Museum, Chinese Seal Art Museum, and Zhongshan Park's Crane Pavilion. Enjoy authentic West Lake vinegar fish at Louwailou Restaurant, then cross Xiling Bridge to leave the island - Yuewang Temple and Breeze-ruffled lotus at Quyuan Garden are just a short distance away. If it's a summer day with strong sunlight, it is recommended to stroll along Beishan road, hiding under the dense shade of trees to admire the curve of Broken bridge and the swaying weeping willows on Bai causeway opposite. There are many entrances along the way leading to Precious stone hill, where you can hike for views, and descend to reach Yuewang temple. Yuewang square has many small shops for snacks, and the Impression West Lake show here in the evening is also worth watching. If you have ample time and energy, you can also head to Su causeway from here for a walk to enjoy the panoramic view of West Lake. Southeast coast (Lakeside-Nanshan Road) Another area with a concentration of attractions is the Hubin Road-Nanshan Road along the southeastern coast. Hubin Road is located at the junction between Hangzhou's urban area and the attraction, offering views of West Lake, a dock for West Lake cruises, and the iconic music fountain. The advantage of Hubin Road is its quick access from the attraction to the downtown business district, making it suitable for travelers with a tight itinerary to make a short stop. Head south from Hubin road and walk along Nanshan road, where you can visit attractions like Orioles singing in the willows, Long bridge, Leifeng pagoda, Evening bell at Nanping hill, and Viewing fish at flower harbor. The distance between adjacent attractions is not far, so you can walk or take a sightseeing bus or public transport, which are also convenient. Geyuan Garden
Geyuan Garden was built in the Qing Dynasty on the site of the former Shouzhi Garden of the Ming Dynasty. At the time, the garden was planted with bamboo. Because the bamboo leaves were shaped like the Chinese character for “Ge”, the garden was thus called “Ge Garden.” The four rockeries in the garden are very unique; after making it around the garden, it's as if the visitor has experienced spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Geyuan Garden is not large and can be divided into three areas: the northern bamboo viewing area, the central flower garden, and the southern residential area. Daming TempleLocated on the central peak of Shugang Hill at the northwest corner of Yangzhou's Slender West Lake, this temple was named after its original construction during the Daming era (457-464 AD) of Emperor Xiaowu of the Liu Song dynasty. Highly recommended during the off-season!
The staff were very friendly; they didn't complain when we fed them our own food, only telling us what we could and couldn't eat.
The animals at the zoo were also very friendly 🥰 The kids were especially happy and kept saying they wanted to go again.

My second visit to West Lake was great; the boat tour was excellent. The dock was easy to find, the staff were very friendly, provided clear explanations, and helped with any issues. There were also sightseeing buses, which were nice but a bit pricey. Taking the boat tour and then walking around was both perfectly fine.

Ge Garden is the private garden of Huang Zhijun, a salt merchant from Yangzhou during the Qing Dynasty. It is a World Cultural Heritage site of the Grand Canal. It is unique for its bamboo, rocks, and artificial mountains for the four seasons. It is a pinnacle of rockery art in Jiangnan. It belongs to the category of gardens that are "small but exquisite and full of ingenuity". Unlike the gardens of Suzhou, it is a combination of the aesthetics of salt merchants and the interests of literati.

This was my first time trying this style of dressing up for a meal and watching a show, and it was quite novel. It was fun and interesting, but if you're looking for a quiet meal, don't try it! 🤪 Overall, it was pretty good.

The Jianzhen Memorial Hall, designed by Liang Sicheng, exudes Tang Dynasty style. Climbing the Qiling Pagoda offers a panoramic view of the Slender West Lake and Yangzhou city, a truly magnificent vista. There's also Pingshan Hall and the Fifth Spring Under Heaven, combining Buddhist heritage with the literary atmosphere of Ouyang Xiu. The gentle chimes under the eaves bring a sense of peace. A visit to Yangzhou is definitely worthwhile.

Highly recommended to anyone seeking nature in its most dramatic, mythic form. Standing above a churning sea of clouds as jagged granite peaks pierced the mist felt like entering a classical scroll painting come alive. One of the sights that left an impression was the quiet poetry of the ancient Huangshan pines that clung impossibly to bare vertical rock faces. Mist swirling through the valleys below was an unforgettable, almost meditative spectacle that made every single step worth the climb.

Definitely worth a visit! Absolutely worth a visit. It's absolutely beautiful on a sunny day. On a weekend, you can sleep in, have a leisurely breakfast, and leave home at 10:50 AM. Drive to the subway station at 11:20 AM, transfer to Line 1, and arrive in half an hour. By the time you get to the park, it's already 12:20 PM! Not crowded, and the park is very comfortable! The animals are adorable, the air is fresh, and the scenery is beautiful! So happy, so therapeutic! My child loved the zoo!

He Garden, also known as Jixiao Villa, is the premier garden of the late Qing Dynasty and the last large-scale private garden in Yangzhou. Its style is significantly different from Ge Garden: Ge Garden is known for its seasonal rockery, while He Garden is known for its three-dimensional corridors, Chinese and Western architectural styles, and flower windows that allow for borrowed scenery. It is a very unique example among gardens in the Jiangnan region.
