This majestic city palace is built with balconies, watchtowers and forts. It is the largest palace in Rajasthan. The front wall is 244 meters long and 30.4 meters high. The view over the lake and the whole city from the rooftop on the upper level of the palace is amazing. After centuries of ups and downs, the building, which was originally a princely palace, is now divided into four sections for management. The main body of the palace has been built into the City Palace Museum (CityPalaceMuseum), which houses a large number of different types of historical relics. If you come here in the morning, you can see that under the sunlight, the entire palace is resplendent and magnificent. As soon as you enter the palace, you will find that there are furniture and decorations from all over Rajasthan, as well as Persia and Europe. And the surrounding walls are even more wonderful and ingenious. Rajwada Palace, located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India, is a symbol of the Holkar dynasty. Built in 1747 by Malhar Rao Holkar, the founder of the Holkar dynasty, the palace is an outstanding example of architectural art that combines Mughal, Maratha and French architectural styles. The palace is a seven-story building, the lower three floors are made of stone, and the upper four floors are made of wood. The whole is rectangular and covers an area of about 2.4 acres. Its architectural features are distinctive, and the huge wooden doors are decorated with exquisite floral patterns and iron spikes, which were once used to prevent elephant attacks. There are beautiful paintings of Hindu gods in the arches, and the stone pillars in the courtyard are beautifully carved. There is also a temple dedicated to the elephant-headed god Ganesh, with a silver door and a gold statue. The Rajwada Palace has witnessed countless historical changes and has been burned down three times. The fire in 1984 reduced the upper four floors to ashes. Fortunately, it was reborn with the efforts of the Indian government and the Holkar family. Today, it is not only a historical building, but also carries rich cultural connotations. Ellora Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site near Aurangabad, Maharashtra, is widely considered one of India's most astonishing monuments, and visitors consistently use words like breathtaking, awe inspiring, and unforgettable to describe it. The complex holds 34 caves carved directly into basalt cliffs, divided into Buddhist (1 to 12), Hindu (13 to 29), and Jain (30 to 34) sections, built side by side across centuries by different faiths working in remarkable harmony. The undisputed highlight is Cave 16, the Kailasa Temple, an enormous multi story structure carved from a single monolithic rock hill, considered one of the greatest feats of ancient rock cut architecture anywhere in the world. Beyond Kailasa, Cave 10 (Vishvakarma, with its naturally echoing acoustics) and the quieter, intricately carved Jain Cave 32 are frequently singled out as must sees.Practically, plan for 2 to 4 hours minimum, longer if you want to appreciate the detail rather than rush through. The caves are closed on Tuesdays, open quite early (around dawn or shortly after), and get hot and crowded by mid morning, so an early start is strongly recommended. Photography is allowed throughout, unlike at the nearby Ajanta Caves. Facilities are reasonably good: drinking water points and restrooms near Cave 16, an ASI museum, and an MTDC restaurant near the entrance, though food isn't allowed inside the caves themselves. E rickshaws or golf carts help cover the spread out site, especially for reaching the Jain caves. Hiring an ASI approved guide is widely recommended, since the caves lack much on site signage and the historical and religious context genuinely enhances the experience, though guide fees run a bit high.

Visiting City Palace was a highlight of my trip. The intricate architecture and the blend of Rajasthani and Mughal styles are breathtaking. I particularly loved the Peacock Courtyard and the museum displays which are very well-maintained. It took about two hours to see everything properly. Highly recommend hiring a guide to hear the stories behind the royal family!
