Conwy Castle

Conwy Castle

4.7/5

The castle was built between 1277 and 1307 and can be regarded as one of the more majestic Welsh forts built by Edward I. The castle stands on a rugged rock overlooking the estuary National Park. Exploring every corner of the castle is a very unforgettable experience, and the cramped stairs are difficult to walk, but they are not meaningful. Standing on the battlements, you can not only see the magnificent and complex construction process of Conwy Castle, but also look at the vast bay and the scattered towns of Conwy, and the photos taken are particularly beautiful.Conwy · 38.9km from Wales

The Cardiff Bay strip, about 2 miles (1.5km) south of the city centre, offers a variety of activities, from boat rides to Barrage, or to the technology discovery centre especially for the little ones. It is also the seat of the new Welsh Assembly. After the end of World War II, with the rise of new energy sources and the rise of container terminals, the raw coal transportation industry declined. By the 1980s, a large number of coal mines in South Wales were closed by Margaret Thatcher's government, and the port of Cardiff was abandoned, and large beaches became wasteland. In the late 1980s, the British government launched a plan to "give new life to declining urban areas". The Welsh government established the "Cardiff Bay Development Company" in April 1987 to transform the 1,100-hectare abandoned port area. The original muddy lake has become a clear freshwater lake, which has become a good place for people to relax and enjoy water sports.United Kingdom · Grangetown

Cardiff Castle is a very important historical site in the area, and it is also an attraction that every visitor to Cardiff will not miss. The castle is in Victorian faux-Gothic style, a far cry from traditional Welsh castles. In the middle of the scenic spot, the parts with a similar traditional architectural style are the Norman Keep, which was built in the 12th century, and the 13th century Black Tower, which forms the entrance gate. Since the 19th century, towers and spires have been built on the west side of the castle, and the colorful bell towers are towering and very eye-catching.United Kingdom · Castle

Caernarfon Castle is located in the center of Caernarfon and is a famous castle in northern Wales. Influenced by the architectural style of the Eastern Roman Empire, the towers of Caernarfon Castle are polygonal rather than round, and the walls feature distinctive geometric patterns. The castle is grand in scale, with passages connecting the various towers, and crisscrossing passages within the individual towers themselves, making it quite interesting to explore. Inside some of the towers, you can watch films documenting the castle's history and view various exhibits, such as the campaigns of Edward I to conquer Wales, the 1969 investiture of Prince Charles as the Prince of Wales, and imperial military medals.Caernarfon · 64.5km from Wales

Cardiff Bay is very easy to go. It is very closed to Cardiff Central Station. You can take the bus or walk 30 mins from central station. It is free to visit, of course, and the scenary there is fantastic. You can spend a few hours there, no doubt. Take lots of pictures there. There are a lot of shops and restaurant and coffee shop there. So once you are tired, you can grab a coffee there, by sitting next to the seashore, enjoying the coffee and the sea at the same time. Different kinds of pubs and restaurant there, from high class to family restaurant. There are also a few historical buildings there, and there is a modern exhibition center there. The design of its outlook is so high tech, you definitely will fall in love with it.

An amazing castle and visiting the grounds was a treat. Full of history and going through the surroundings, it wasn't repetitive and not boring at all. I absolutely loved it and it's was very interesting. I love the Arab Room and the war shelters. Reasonable priced tickets compared to the Royal castle prices. I highly recommend this visit for all ages. The staff were friendly and helpful. I love Cardiff. It's so refreshing compared to London.

【View】An impressive and magnificent castle. During our visit, access to some areas was restricted due to ongoing restoration work, but this did not diminish our enjoyment of the site. There is a museum within the castle with several layers of Welsh and British history. Also interesting is an 8-minute film about the history of the castle, which is a fantastic addition to your overall experience. Large paid parking lot behind the castle, with ample parking and free toilets nearby

This is a family private property, and the building area of the entire garden is very large. You can also see a lot of good things in the garden. It is a very good choice to visit here. Many of the contents are also worthy of attention.
