  What travelers say:"We’ve traveled to Haikou because it was my friends bday, the hotel staff were very nice, everything was beautiful and specially the front desk were very nice, we’ve asked for a shuttle service to the airport and there were no available at the time we needed but we’ve got a late checkout instead, which was wonderful. They’ve also sent a piece of cheesecake with a candle to our room for my friend’s bday. The only bad part was that the swimming pools were filled with leaves, I guess it was a bit cold for people to get in the pool, but we did, so those leaves were very uncomfortable."

Food is mainly Chinese but there are pastries and a small selection of western food. Overall, very nice stay. Pool area is lovely but you need a swim hat to go in the pool."

I returned for the 2023 Spring Festival, and it was even better because the beach had been renovated. This trip was very relaxing and enjoyable. I would return to Haikou Shangri-La because the staff and other guests were friendly and helpful. "

  What travelers say:"The location was not ideal for the purpose of my vacation. It was difficult to determine from the online information available, if there was a beach nearby. There wasn’t. It was also frustrating that the swimming pool was closed given that there was not swimming beach nearby. There is a supposed to be a spa in the hotel but it was no longer available. A fitness room still exists and looked well equipped. Aside from this, the staff were friendly and a couple of the staff spoke enough English to take care of my needs. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the cleaning staff did an excellent job of cleaning my room. It was convenient to have laundry facilities in the room given that my stay was 14 days long. If you’re in Haikou for business, then I give this hotel high marks. I was on vacation so it wasn’t the ideal hotel."

  What travelers say:"We (German family) have visited the hotel during our Hainan vacations. The location is great within a Chinese local quarter and close to a beautiful large park with view on the Haikou bay. The staff is very friendly and helpful but you need to speak some English to get things done. We have three children so we booked the family suite on the 33rd floor which was very spacious and suitable for us. The equipment in the hotel was a bit older and partially worn down but all still functional and could be used well. But for the price I would not complain too much. Cleanliness was okay but not superior. The rooms smelled a bit moldy from time to time and needed good ventilation. The offered breakfast was okay for us (as we did not expect a lot of international food). The children found suitable dishes like cereal, small cakes, noodles or fried rice. The fruit offerings were good. A negative point from my side was the very bad coffee quality. The offered filtered coffee was really not good. These days many local Chinese hotels have small fresh brew coffee machines to offer a coffee or even Cappuccino. I recommend the hotel to invest into one. Fortunately for us there was a Starbucks across the street and a Luckin Coffee will open later down the street. Overall a nice time in Haikou and we would book the family suite again due to the good price."

Located in the beautiful green forest and charming European architectures. There are so warm and helpful front desk. Very big and comfortable swimming pool. Amazing exterior and interior with nice environments. The balconies are so big with great views. Also there are very special and delicious foods in the restaurant. I really appreciated the gym room. It was very nice to make a work out there. Hotel's team is awesome and their services are excellent. Especially, Maggie, Wu Fei, Chen Yangde, one more two managers, a man and a woman.
