Lilly0718The Uffizi Gallery (Galleria degli Uffizi), built in the 16th century, was originally constructed by the Medici family, the rulers of Florence, as offices for their government. "Uffizi" means "office" in Italian. As the Medici family continued to collect and preserve a vast collection of art treasures, the building gradually evolved into an art museum, officially opening to the public in 1765, becoming one of the earliest public art museums in Europe. The Uffizi Gallery's core collection comprises European paintings from the 13th to 18th centuries, and it is particularly renowned for its masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance. It almost completely presents the development and evolution of painting styles from the late Middle Ages to the High Renaissance, making it an important institution for understanding Western art history.

Lilly0718The Florence Cathedral (Santa Maria del Fiore), meaning "Our Lady of the Flowers," symbolizes Florence, a city named after flowers. Construction began in 1296, and it is a crucial architectural achievement in the transition from the late Middle Ages to the Renaissance. Its most revolutionary achievement is the colossal dome designed by Filippo Brunelleschi and completed between 1420 and 1436—the largest brick dome in the world at the time, built without external scaffolding. This exemplifies a rediscovery and transcendence of classical engineering wisdom and is considered a milestone in Renaissance architecture. The interior of the dome features a magnificent fresco, "The Last Judgment," which, through strong spatial depth and dramatic composition, integrates theological order with visual impact. The Florence Cathedral, along with the Baptistery and Giotto's Campanile, forms the artistic and religious core of Florence's historic center and is collectively listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Blessed by Godsuch a lovely place, the duomo or cathedral is very big that I cannot take a picture of the whole cathedral. Even if I have seen it several times I always love to visit and see it again and again.

130***58Booking tickets on Ctrip for two people was over a hundred yuan more than the official website, but the official website sold out the time slot we needed, while Ctrip was still able to book, which was quite good. Booking in advance and arriving on time to skip the line and scan the QR code to enter was very convenient. The original David was much larger than I expected and much more refined than the replica next to the Palazzo Vecchio. It's well worth a visit.

陶陶The Uffizi Gallery is very classic, with a reasonable flow. The works of the masters are worth appreciating slowly. The Pitti Palace is worth seeing, and the interior is not hot. The Medici family is so powerful. The Boboli Gardens are just outside the Pitti Palace. I thought the Pitti Palace Gardens were far away from the Boboli Gardens, so I was still looking for the Boboli Gardens after walking around the Boboli Gardens. My family laughed to death. I accidentally went to the Castle Hill behind and encountered a heavy rain. It was quite pleasant to walk after the rain. I had the energy to continue to watch the sunset at the nearby Michelangelo Hill. We had seen it the day before and didn't go there

sculptorPalazzo Vecchio (Italian for "Old Palace") is the town hall of Florence, Italy. Overlooking Piazza della Signoria, it is the historic centre of Florence and the main site of the origins and history of the Florentine Republic, still maintaining its reputation as the political focal point of the city.

长空一残月🌙We went, only to find out it was sold out until July! Only 15 people were allowed in at any one time. Also couldn't bring any liquids, but they did provide lockers. Hopefully this helps anyone thinking of visiting. There was a lovely square outside where all the people without tickets were hanging out, looking for something else to do!

Tablet666The moment I saw Michelangelo's "The Statue of David" was really shocked. The statue was tall but very delicate, with the muscle lines and expressions depicted extremely vividly, both powerful and quiet. Standing in front of the statue, you can clearly feel the tension of the momentum, as if he will move next second. No matter what perspective, it reveals amazing beauty and skills, which makes people stop for a long time. After seeing it, I really understood why it was hailed as the peak of the history of human sculpture.

小鱼儿2015The private villa of the Boboli family, a legendary Italian family, covers a huge area and is also a very nice garden landscape in the old town. Many people are maintaining it here and you can visit it from the outside.
