旅の径Lugano, a charming town in southern Switzerland, is known as the "fairy tale city". Lugano, derived from the Italian word "Lucus", which means "dense forest", is the capital of Ticino, the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. The thousand-year-old town, built in the 6th century AD, speaks Italian, eats pasta, and has a full Italian atmosphere; the houses facing the lake and the mountains are lined up in lake blue, pink, tender green, and cream yellow... like a series of brightly colored Mediterranean style paintings; walking through the streets and alleys, stopping by the arcades, the elderly are leisurely reading newspapers, and the children are happily playing, and the soul is quiet and healed here.
