I wish I had gone there sooner, knowing that such a beautiful ocean was closer than Okinawa.

The food is delicious, the nature is abundant, and you can refresh your mind and body.

I absolutely love Amami Oshima! It&#39;s not overly touristy, so you can enjoy nature and the relaxed countryside! In the winter season, you can see humpback whales and go swimming! It&#39;s a comfortable place where you can feel the greenery and the sea! I also recommend trying on Tsumugi, one of the world&#39;s three major textiles, and mud dyeing.

It is an island full of beautiful seas and nature.

Because it is smaller than the main island of Okinawa, it is compact and easy to get around, and the distance to tourist spots and the sea is close! The seas all over the island are really beautiful.

I stayed in Naze for two nights. There are many izakayas, so it is convenient to go anywhere.

The food is also very delicious. Both Kyushu and Okinawa are delicious, but Amami feels like it combines the best of both.

I went canoeing at Kuroshio no Mori Mangrove Park. You can see many aquatic creatures. I was able to drop in and experience it.
The food at the nearby Amami Yakuzen Tsumugi-an is excellent.

I watched the sunset at Ohama Seaside Park. There are many hermit crabs on the coast, and they are cute.

When you go to Heart Rock, check the low tide time. It was about an hour later, but it was fine just in time. Be careful as it is slippery.

Buy souvenirs at Big Two! Be sure to try the brown sugar shochu!

If you have the time, I recommend traveling to other remote islands beyond Amami where you will find even more beautiful scenery.
