Located in Michael Joseph Park, the Savage Memorial was built to commemorate Michael Joseph Savage, the 23rd Prime Minister of New Zealand and the first leader of the Labour Party. * He paid attention to people's livelihood issues and proposed the "high income, high taxation, and high welfare" policy, making New Zealand a welfare country.
The main body of the monument is a towering obelisk with two doors on the base, which are said to lead to the mausoleum. The side of the obelisk facing the sea is engraved with a relief of Savage, and the side facing the garden is a carving similar to the Virgin Mary holding the child. The overall design presents a simple geometric shape, smooth lines and symmetrical layout, showing a solemn and modern architectural aesthetic.
The greenery here is very good, the view is wide, and the scenery is pleasant.
