The scenic area is quite nice. The B-line shuttle bus terminates at Tianmen Cave. At Tianmen Cave, you can choose to walk down the stairs or take the escalator. However, taking the escalator requires a ticket, 32 yuan one way. The view from the mountaintop is stunning, including a wingsuit flying platform. Both the east and west lines have glass walkways, which require an additional fee. The east line also has a cable car, which also costs extra and goes directly to the highest point. The west line has a free cable car bridge. The convergence point of the east and west lines is Tianmen Mountain Temple, which houses relics of Sakyamuni Buddha and his disciples; it's worth a visit.
The mountain and stairway to heaven is quite spectacular. It was cloudy and rainy on the day I visited, so could not see much at the top, but that is the same at any mountain. Only downside was the A line cable car stopped half way and had to get the escalators, which are much slower.

The scenery at Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan Scenic Area is beautiful, but you need to make a reservation every day to enter. The morning slots are usually quite limited, and the queue for the elevator can take more than an hour. The tourist map is not very clear, so you might end up taking a wrong turn.
If you're not a young, active traveler, and your physical fitness is average, you're not too concerned about cost-effectiveness, and you don't need to see all the attractions, I recommend two days. Of course, arriving a day earlier and staying near the East Gate is ideal. On the first day, it's best to arrive before 8 am to avoid tour groups. The mountain attractions include Tianzi Mountain, Laowuchang, Yangjiajie, and Yuanjiajie. I strongly suggest only visiting Laowuchang and Yuanjiajie. Tianzi Mountain has too many tour groups, resulting in a poor experience. Yangjiajie requires a hike to and from Wulong Mountain Village, and while the scenery is beautiful, it's nearly 5 kilometers and can be physically challenging. The reason for choosing Laowuchang is simple: fewer people and a superior experience. Yuanjiajie is the essence of the experience and a must-see. The first day's attractions cover the highlights of the mountain; the next day will cover the highlights of both the upper and lower sections. On the second day, choosing the Ten-Mile Gallery and Golden Whip Stream is sufficient. For the Ten-Mile Gallery, it's best to hike in and then take the mini-train out. This avoids the crowds, as most tourists choose to take the train, resulting in long queues. The walking experience is far superior to the train ride. You could consider taking the train to save energy. There are many monkeys in Jinbian Stream, and the one-way trip is 5 kilometers, so there's no need to walk the whole way.

When we went, there were very few people, and the weather was great. It was raining down below, but when we reached the top of the mountain, the sky cleared up, and we saw a fairyland. So, when going to Fanjingshan, don't give up because of bad weather. Maybe a miracle will happen at the last moment. Stay in one place for a while and don't leave immediately, because your time there can change in an instant.
The long-awaited holy land finally arrived today! Absolutely amazing! We even bumped into some Hong Kong aunties and uncles along the way – that was incredible too! You don't know what "perilous" means until you've been here. The weather was great, sunny and bright, and I was in a great mood! Hahahaha, come on, friends!

Our tour guide, Xiao Tian, was very helpful and provided excellent explanations. The bus driver drove smoothly and we arrived at our destination on time. The Huangguoshu Waterfall, Water Curtain Cave, Tianxing Bridge, Beauty Banyan Tree, and Silver Chain Waterfall were all incredibly beautiful.
If you're driving, you can enter from the West Gate, take the tour bus to the East Gate, and finally take another bus back to the West Gate. Parking: Parking is available at the West Gate; there are plenty of parking spaces. For people from the plains, the mountains and waterfalls are absolutely breathtaking. My favorite part was the water forest; walking along the stone paths through the forest with the rushing stream beside you was very enjoyable.

All the ancient cities, towns, villages, and fortresses are pretty much the same. A river runs through the village, and it's very lively at night. I think the management of the scenic area is quite mature compared to others.
It's worth seeing. I recommend doing your research beforehand to avoid backtracking. Overall, it's a very good experience. Just be aware that the sightseeing bus stops running after 10:30 am.

On our last night in Guilin, we took the Two Rivers & Four Lakes night cruise. The lights, reflections, and evening breeze made the city feel wonderfully gentle, giving our trip a perfect finale. A heartfelt thank you to Dylan from Trip.com for his prompt replies,
The night view was enchanting, and experiencing the two types of locks was fantastic. I arrived early, but the ticket inspector helped me change my ticket to an earlier departure if there were available seats. The fourteen bridges are all unique in design; pay special attention to the paintings and reliefs beneath the bridge surfaces.

It’s an extremely nice scenic area in the heart of Guilin city. Quite crowded, but enjoyed the beauty of nature.
The user experience is fantastic! Visiting Elephant Trunk Hill in Guilin is breathtaking. The hill connects seamlessly with the water, resembling an elephant drinking water—it's incredibly lifelike. The surrounding facilities are excellent, and transportation is convenient, making it suitable for family trips. Overall, Elephant Trunk Hill is a must-see in Guilin and highly recommended!

Zhijin Cave in Guizhou is a natural karst cave formed over thousands of years. Inside the cave, there are many stalactites and underground rivers on the walls and ceiling, with various shapes and forms that are very spectacular. The whole scene is well worth visiting in person!
The cave is beautiful, and since it's the off-season, it's deserted, allowing for a leisurely visit. A visit takes about 3 hours, with many steps! Whether it's tiring depends on your physical condition; I personally didn't find it too strenuous. It's not cold inside the cave; a base layer and a sweatshirt are usually enough (in November). The only problem is transportation within the scenic area. There are very few direct buses from the high-speed rail station to the scenic area—only one per hour, and they're very slow. We had to take a taxi, which cost 120 yuan and took 40 minutes. By the time we finished our visit, it was almost dark, and there were no taxis available, especially in the middle of nowhere. I hope the scenic area can change the time of the last bus; otherwise, we would miss our high-speed train back to Guiyang. Finally, a kind man took us to the high-speed rail station. What a thrilling trip!

Duxiu Peak and Jingjiang Prince City Scenic Area, located in Xiufeng District, Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is a scenic tourist area rich in history and culture, covering an area of 283 acres. Duxiu Peak, along with Diecai and Fubo Peaks, forms a triad of mountains, one of the main peaks of Guilin, known as the "Pillar of the Southern Sky" and historically called the First Peak of Guilin. Rising abruptly, its shape is like a knife-cut hex, surrounded by other mountains, standing proudly like an emperor. Climbing 306 steps leads to the summit, the best viewing platform for panoramic views of Guilin. Located 1000 meters north of Diecai and 500 meters east of Fubo, it has an altitude of 216 meters, rising 66 meters above the plain, measuring 120 meters long and 50 meters wide, covering an area of 0.61 hectares. Surrounded by mountains in the distance, it resembles a courtier paying homage, creating a regal atmosphere of "a solitary peak not serving the other mountains," laughing at the surrounding peaks, and is known as the "Head of the Mountains, King of the Mountains." The cliffside inscriptions are scattered like stars, displaying a rich tapestry of history. Among them is the famous line, "Guilin's scenery is the best under heaven," which originated here. The intangible cultural heritage of the Jingjiang Prince's Palace is "Prince's Palace Rubbings," pioneered by Zhu Zuojing, the fifth Prince of Jingjiang. Using color rubbing techniques, it stems from the study of the palace's stone inscriptions and boasts a 600-year history. The most representative rubbing, featuring the Five Blessings, was featured on CCTV's Spring Festival Gala.
This is a highly recommended attraction. It boasts pristine, ancient scenery. A guide usually leads a group of about 10 people, providing explanations and commentary throughout the visit. It's excellent, allowing you to experience scenery and culture you wouldn't normally see. There are many authentic cultural relics reflecting Guilin's past and present. I suggest visiting if you have the time, but be prepared for the climb to the top for panoramic views of Guilin.
