Gegentala is Mongolian, meaning "vast and bright grassland". Gegentala grassland is located in Siziwang Banner, Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, 140 kilometers away from Hohhot, the capital of the autonomous region, and 200 kilometers away from Ulanqab City. The asphalt road extends to the tourist spot like a black ribbon, and it is a national scenic spot. Since it was opened to Chinese and foreign tourists in 1979, it has received more than 40,000 tourists from more than 50 countries and regions, and more than 200,000 domestic tourists. Gegentala tourist spot holds a tourist Nadam from August 15 to August 25 every year, which is also a great time to escape the summer heat.
