The Chinese Korean Folk Culture Park, located in Lihua Village, Xiaoying Town, Yanji City, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province, is a key cultural and tourism project in Yanji City. Completed and officially opened on September 2, 2012, the park covers 9.4 hectares and has a construction area of 6,145 square meters. It comprises 40 Korean-style buildings, including nine century-old houses relocated from ancient border villages.
The park is divided into five functional areas:
1. Traditional Culture Exhibition Area: This area showcases the history, culture, and traditional lifestyle of the Korean ethnic group.
2. Traditional Sports Performance Area: This area features wrestling arenas, swings, springboards, and other folk sports facilities, allowing visitors to watch or participate in traditional sports.
3. Century-Old House Experience Area: This area recreates scenes from the lives of different families, including stonemasons, fishermen, farmers, and potters, allowing visitors to experience traditional Korean life.
4. Traditional Food Experience Area: This area offers opportunities to learn how to make and sample traditional Korean delicacies, such as rice cakes, rice wine, cold noodles, and daegu. 5. Folk Culture Experience Center: Visitors can participate in traditional Korean weddings, learn Korean dances, and try on Korean costumes.
In recent years, the park has undergone upgrades and renovations, incorporating trendy elements and popular check-in spots, such as a giant straw bear, the new IP character "Xiao Yan," and a tile-end prayer wall. The park also utilizes light and water shows to create a dreamy nightscape, making it a vibrant cultural and leisure destination both day and night.
The China Korean Folk Culture Park, through a "tourism + folk culture + experience" model, organically integrates folk culture displays, intangible cultural heritage experiences, unique dining, and cultural exchange, allowing visitors to deeply experience and engage with the charm of traditional Korean culture. The park is also committed to preserving and promoting China's fine traditional culture and fostering interaction and integration among ethnic groups, making it a key cultural tourism landmark in Yanbian.
