I'd been in Xi'an for over a month but hadn't had time to visit the Qin Emperor's Mausoleum. I finally decided to go on a whim this weekend, before I even bought the tickets. From boarding the bus at the designated time to the end of the journey (the flight attendant provided a perfect itinerary on the bus), it completely exceeded all my expectations.
Today is November 17th, and the lowest temperature in Xi'an is 3 degrees Celsius, which is still quite cold. Although it's supposed to be the off-season, there are still a lot of people. Those with children, I wonder if their kids aren't in school? I don't think I heard they're on holiday yet. Buying tickets on Ctrip includes a free guided tour, which is great, but because there are so many people and almost everyone has a guided tour, the audio guides are very cluttered and often cut out. However, the Terracotta Army of Qin Shi Huang is definitely worth a visit; it's a truly awe-inspiring experience. As a Chinese person, I must go at least once in my lifetime.

I visited the Longmen Grottoes alone. Since it was a weekday during the off-season, the experience was quite good. I walked alone along both sides of the river, admiring the grottoes in silence. I felt the weight of history and the exquisite craftsmanship; the trip was worthwhile. The only downside is that you have to walk through a commercial street before reaching the main sites, and that distance is a bit far. I went in the windy winter, and it was quite cold, so please dress warmly.
Every moment in Luoyang, the ancient capital of thirteen dynasties, is filled with history: Engage with the museum's treasures across time at the Luoyang Museum, feeling the warmth of a thousand-year-old civilization; visit the Longmen Grottoes to see the smiling gaze of the Vairocana Buddha; admire the ginkgo leaves at the White Horse Temple and explore the ruins of the Han and Wei ancient city—every chisel mark is an echo of history. #LuoyangTour #CulturalTrip

The hotel is great, with a good location and convenient transportation. The environment is also very nice, combining traditional and modern elements, creating a classic and elegant atmosphere. It's very clean, with complete facilities and amenities. The rooms are spacious and airy, with large floor-to-ceiling windows. The blankets and pillows are soft like clouds, incredibly comfortable. The toilet and shower are separate, and the toilet flushes quickly and efficiently. The birdcage-shaped sofa chair near the elevator is quite beautiful. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious, and it was very popular with many people eating there. The "butler-style service" at the front desk is excellent, very attentive and welcoming. I've already recommended it to family and friends; I suggest everyone come and experience it!
From Sichuan to Xi'an, Sichuan offered free admission to those over 60, regardless of whether it was the world-renowned Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou or the Dujiangyan Irrigation System. However, in Xi'an, everything was charged, many without even half-price offers, and the ticket prices were quite high. It felt like the cultural tourism sector lacked a human touch. The Xi'an City Wall was beautiful, offering views of the ancient city's interior and the bustling cityscape outside. Due to time constraints, I only visited a quarter of it; I'll have to explore it further another time. The Shaanxi History Museum is supposedly impossible to book; you can only go through a travel agency, which is essentially a form of disguised payment. I ended up buying some souvenirs at the Tang Paradise cultural and creative shops. Xi'an, this ancient city brimming with history, still has so much to explore. See you next time!

My family all urged me to go to Mount Hua; it's absolutely stunning! We chose a route going north and down west, which was a bit challenging, but the scenery was definitely worth it. I truly experienced the wonders of nature. Taking the cable car afterwards made it all worthwhile; the views from the cable car were even more spectacular. The only downside was that climbing the mountain really took a toll on my legs; I couldn't get up the next day.
The scenery at Mount Hua was decent, but it was a bit too crowded. Going west and then north allowed me to see most of the attractions. The tour guides were friendly, and it felt like I'd just been there. I was also lucky to catch the first snowfall of the season.

The performance of "The Song of Everlasting Regret" was incredibly moving! "Heaven and earth may pass away, but this regret will last forever," the core of the poem lies in the word "regret." This "regret" is Emperor Xuanzong's endless remorse after losing his beloved; it is the constant longing he felt day and night for his beloved, as expressed in the lines "The Shu River is blue, the Shu Mountains are green, the Emperor's love is constant, morning and night"; it is Yang Guifei's unwillingness to accept her tragic death; it is the regret of "Years have passed since our separation by death, her soul has never come to me in dreams"; it is also history's silent condemnation of the abuse of power, and the world's sorrow at the destruction of beautiful love by reality.
I had high expectations for "The Song of Everlasting Regret." Before entering, there was a parade of floats and song and dance performances in the square, which created a great atmosphere. The first and second acts of the performance were quite impressive, especially the scene with the stars shining all over the mountain, which was a brilliant idea. However, the subsequent acts were a bit monotonous and lacked depth. They were beautiful, but they lacked a truly moving and impactful quality.

The waterfall is spectacular. Although November is not the time of year with the highest water volume, it is not crowded and the weather is good enough to see a rainbow. The surging water splashes up a unique mist, which is well worth seeing!
I've been to Hukou Waterfall twice, the first time from the Shaanxi side and the second time from the Shanxi side. I personally think the waterfall is more spectacular from the Shanxi side because you can go down below the Dragon Cave and look up at the waterfall, which is a truly unique experience.

Laojun Mountain Today I chose the lazy way to climb the mountain. I highly recommend driving. There are plenty of parking spaces inside the scenic area, and parking is free and unlimited. When leaving the scenic area, the electric tram costs 5 yuan per vehicle, and the gasoline car costs 10 yuan per vehicle. The scenic area entrance fee is 100 yuan. No reservation is needed for vehicles entering the scenic area; just scan your ID card at the entrance. Park near the Yunjing/Zhongling cableway (Level 1 cableway). Currently, only one of the two cableways is open each day, with the same price, and opening is random. Today we used the Yunjing cableway, which costs 130 yuan round trip. The Level 1 cableway is a must-ride; otherwise, it's estimated to take 4 hours to climb to Zhongtianmen. After getting off the Level 1 cableway, walk 5 minutes to the Fenglin cableway (Level 2 cableway), which costs 80 yuan round trip. After getting off the cableway, go through the Fairy Tunnel to reach the Ten-Mile Painting Screen. The essence of the mountain scenery is all here; it's all flat ground, no climbing required, and every step reveals a beautiful view. When you reach the General Peak service area, be sure to use the restrooms; they are cleaner here than at the top of the mountain. This concludes the tour of the Ten-Mile Painting Screen. You can choose to take the elevator directly to the Golden Summit for 40 yuan, but it has been closed since March of this year. The only option is to hike, which took about an hour. When you reach the Taibai Service Area, be sure to check the route carefully. There are two paths: one leads to the summit of Funiu Mountain, requiring further hiking; the other is a gentler path directly to the Golden Summit, which you can see at the service area, behind the souvenir pavilion. Both paths eventually lead to the Golden Summit; choose according to your physical condition. Today I only visited the Golden Summit, Daode Mansion, Laojun Temple, and Jade Emperor Peak. They were very beautiful. I went in the morning and didn't get to see the lights come on at night. When I came down, I saw a long queue for the cable car, just like during the October 1st holiday. People say Xi'an only has peak season and peak-peak season, and this place seems to be similar. To get down, you can take the slide for 20 yuan, which takes you directly to the entrance of the second-level cable car. The entire trip took 4 hours. Overall, Laojun Mountain has beautiful scenery and is worth visiting, but the overall cost is quite high. If you need to burn incense, bring your own, as it's more expensive on the mountain (30 yuan for 3 sticks). Wishing plaques are also available; 5 yuan at the foot of the mountain, 20 yuan on the mountain. There are many stalls at the summit; instant noodles are 12 yuan, but don't bring your own, as you'll need to pay an extra 5 yuan for hot water if you bring your own. There are also Mixue Ice Cream, Bawang Tea, Kuafu Fried Skewers, Zhengxin Chicken Cutlet, etc., with prices similar to those at the foot of the mountain, which are quite reasonable. Most people choose to go up the mountain around 1 pm because the Golden Summit is very beautiful when lit up at night. However, it gets quite crowded. Also, bring a coat, sun hat, umbrella, etc. It's cold on the mountain, especially at night.
Laojun Mountain is truly a real-life fairyland! The cable car takes you directly to the summit, making it incredibly convenient. The ten-mile-long suspended walkway offers breathtaking views at every turn, with its uniquely shaped mountains and rocks resembling a natural painting. At dusk, the golden summit illuminates, creating a truly divine scene where the lights blend seamlessly with the sea of clouds, creating a stunning, shimmering, dreamlike landscape. In the morning, the sea of clouds surges among the mountains, accompanied by the ancient bells of the Taoist temples, offering a truly healing experience for both body and mind. With reasonable prices, excellent facilities, and the fusion of natural beauty and Taoist culture, this trip is absolutely worth the price of admission!

Pingyao Ancient City has always been famous, and I finally managed to visit it today. You can walk around the ancient city without any trouble. The money exchange, bank, security escort agency, county government office, and courtyard are all well preserved, showing tourists the appearance and local customs of a relatively developed county town in Shanxi during the Republic of China period. Walking on the bumpy stone road with light snowflakes falling from the sky makes you feel very immersed in the place.
I recommend the Pingyao County Government Office, the best-preserved and largest feudal county government office in China. There's a court performance at 9:30 PM. The Rishengchang Exchange House, located on West Street, is the representative of Pingyao Ancient City's banking industry. It was China's first exchange house and pioneered modern banking. The Pingyao Confucian Temple was first built in the early Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty. Its Dacheng Hall is a Jin Dynasty building and is the oldest existing Confucian temple of all levels in my country. Outside the ancient city, there are also famous attractions such as Shuanglin Temple and Zhenguo Temple. I also recommend the "Encounter Pingyao" performance at 7 PM.

Overall must visit, can get congested. Very beautiful and with the history of the clay and pottery in every day life you get to learn more. Great viewpoint followed by very lively markets. The only thing we didn’t get to go round the lower level because it was 17:45 and despite there was plenty of time it was closed(hence the 2 4s) at least we were allowed to take a picture of the bell.
During my trip, I bought a combined ticket for the Bell Tower and Drum Tower, which was very convenient, as the two attractions are not far apart. The security guards and service staff were very patient and answered all my questions. The attractions were excellent, each with its own unique features, and overall, I was left with a deep impression of Xi'an.

It's definitely a must-visit tourist destination in Xi'an. It's worth visiting if you want to learn about history, but if you're looking for a park experience, there's not much to see, and it's not very cost-effective.
Beautiful place to visit, great if you have time to slowly stroll as the area is very big. For a better experience, check the show times and plan the visit accordingly
