Because of poor time management, I missed the free viewing time of the martial arts performance at the theater. I should have chosen a good time first and watched it before going inside.
The Songshan Shaolin Scenic Area includes the Shaolin Temple Permanent Residence, the Pagoda Forest, the First Patriarch Temple, the Second Patriarch Temple, the Bodhidharma Cave, the Ten Directions Zen Temple, the Martial Arts Hall, and the Three Emperors' Village. The Shaolin Temple Permanent Residence is the core of the Shaolin Temple, with a total area of more than 30,000 square meters and seven courtyards. It includes the Mountain Gate Hall, the Heavenly King Hall, the Main Hall, the Sutra Library, the Abbot's Room, the Snow Pavilion, and the Western Saint Hall. [1] The temple currently preserves 245 steles from the Northern Qi Dynasty to the Republic of China, a large-scale colorful mural of the Five Hundred Arhats from the Ming Dynasty, more than 100 plaques, couplets, and metal artifacts from the Jin Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, colorful murals such as the Shaolin Temple Boxing Manual and the Shaolin Temple Thirteen Stick Monks Saving the King of Qin, Shaolin Boxing standing pits, and ancient trees, etc., which are of high historical, artistic, and scientific value.
