I went in mid-July, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. If you drive in on your own, there are touts charging me 150 yuan to get in. I'd like to ask if this is the only way to drive into the scenic area?
The shuttle bus is very convenient, with many round trips and many cars. The scenery is also very good, but you need to stay long enough to enjoy it. When you go there, the road is under construction and it is very bumpy and uncomfortable. Apart from this, everything else is acceptable. The overall experience is okay. The cattle, sheep and the winding river are still worth seeing. It is very good. You can come and experience it.

Very worth going. Every year 6-8 month is the best travel time, architectural aesthetics and exotic customs, unique border scenery and rich cultural connotation combine, bring new experiences and happiness to tourists
The whole walk is still quite leg-consuming. I look at the three countries at a glance. The left is Mongolia and the right is Russia. The door is very spectacular. It is the fifth generation of the door. Standing here, my heart can't be proud of the colorful Matryoshka Square. I walk and watch, I don't feel tired, I just feel that my eyes are not enough. Color application is too bold, too dazzling, Manzhouli, full of vitality, worth walking!

I was a little disappointed after taking bus 92 to the Chulechuan Grassland stop. There was no grassland, just a desolate meadow with very short, dry grass. In the distance, I saw a building that looked like a yurt, went inside for a quick look, took a photo with a sculpture of a Mongolian beauty, and then came out via a road near the mountains. There was a bus stop for bus 115 by the roadside. After waiting a while, the bus arrived (it came from the Red Education Base), and I rode for two stops before finally reaching the core scenic area! It was breathtaking! Grasslands, towering green mountains, and babbling rivers were all within easy reach, a truly beautiful sight. The only downside was that I didn't see any horses or sheep. For the return trip, I first took bus 115 to the Red Education Base, then transferred to bus 92. Bus 115 is a suburban bus, running approximately every hour, so be mindful of your travel time. No entrance fee is required.
On August 31st, I took advantage of the weekend for a two-day, one-night special forces tour of Hohhot. It happened to rain, so I'm especially grateful to the two train drivers who drove my son and me to the door to prevent us from getting soaked. Two weeks in advance was perfect. It's a bit chilly in the mornings and evenings now, so you can rent an electric scooter and combine the train ride with walking.

It's definitely worth it! It's an unforgettable experience! The vast desert is desolate and magnificent. You can have fun in it, drive an off-road vehicle and surf on the sand dunes. The bumps bring excitement, screams and laughter all the way!
The Tengger Desert is China's fourth largest desert (about 43,000 square kilometers). It means "sky" in Mongolian. Its vast sea of sand and numerous lakes form a unique landscape. The golden sand dunes are like solidified waves, and the crescent-shaped and pyramid-shaped sand dunes are interlaced. The Ulan Lake "Heart of the Earth" and Swan Lake and other water towns in the desert add a magical touch‌12. Here you can ride a camel to experience the ancient charm of the Silk Road, and you can also experience the passion of desert off-roading. The starry sky and the Milky Way at night are particularly stunning‌45. Despite the dry climate, it breeds drought-resistant plants such as Haloxylon ammodendron and Ammopiptanthus sandii, as well as wild animals such as Goitered Gazelle, showing tenacious ecological vitality.

Encountering Saishang Old Street and Immersing in the Ancient Charm Stepping onto Saishang Old Street, I felt like I was plunging into the embrace of bygone times. The bluestone pavement beneath my feet, polished smooth by time, felt like a dialogue with history with every step. The quaint shops lining the street resembled mysterious treasure boxes. As I wandered through them, my gaze was captivated by the exquisite handicrafts. The vibrantly colored paper-cuts and delicate, vivid leather carvings all left me marveling at the masterful craftsmanship of the folk artists. The air was filled with the aroma of delicious food. A bite of grilled lamb skewers, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with just the right amount of spice, instantly ignited my taste buds. Standing in the center of the old street, I watched the bustling crowds—tourists like me, their faces filled with curiosity, and locals, leisurely and content. Here, tradition and modernity intertwine in perfect harmony. Saishang Old Street is more than just a street; it's a living history book, documenting the city's past and transformation. I was intoxicated by this ancient charm and modern style and was reluctant to leave. This unique experience will always remain deep in my memory and become a precious treasure.
# Saishang Old Street: A Picturesque Scroll of History and Modernity Saishang Old Street is imbued with a rich, ancient charm. Strolling along, the winding bluestone pavement seems to quietly tell stories of the past. On both sides of the street, quaint buildings are arranged in an orderly pattern, their soaring eaves, brackets, carved beams, and painted buildings showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship of traditional architecture. Here, traditional shops line the streets, offering a dazzling array of ethnic costumes, handicrafts, and local snacks. Discover exquisite folk artisans, savor authentic local cuisine, and experience the unique local flavor. The old street cleverly blends history and modernity. Its traditional charm invites visitors to explore the past, while modern commercial elements imbue it with new vitality, making it an excellent window into local culture and customs.

Going to Meidaizhao and then to the Jokhang Temple in Hohhot created a fascinating sense of continuity. We happened to have a chance. Visiting Meidaizhao in the morning and the Jokhang Temple the next day was a truly wonderful experience. A guided tour of Meidaizhao is essential to truly appreciate the historical continuity. If you want to climb the White Pagoda later, you don't need to buy a ticket; you can go there on your own.
Meidaizhao: A Perfect Fusion of Tibetan Buddhism and a Ming Dynasty Ancient City Ancient city walls surround Han, Tibetan, and Mongolian architecture, and exquisite murals tell a century of history. It is a living museum. I am Leo, a traveler constantly exploring dungeons in Earth Online. Meidaizhao, formerly known as Lingjue Temple and later renamed Shouling Temple, is one of the most important Tibetan Buddhist structures in Inner Mongolia and a National Key Cultural Relic Protection Site. Located on the north side of the Beijing-Tibet Expressway, this unique ancient structure was built during the Longqing period of the Ming Dynasty (1567-1572). It was built by Altan Khan, leader of the Tumed tribe of Mongolia, after he was granted the title of Queen of Shunyi. 01 Overview Meidaizhao has a circumference of 681 meters and a total area of approximately 4,000 square meters. It is surrounded by a wall of earth and stone inlays, approximately 4 meters high and sturdy. Corner towers are built at each corner, and a gate is located in the middle of the south wall. The temple houses approximately 1,650 square meters of Ming Dynasty murals, vividly depicting the political and religious developments of the Mongol Jin Dynasty during the Ming Dynasty. It is known as a mural museum. These murals are of great value to the study of Ming Dynasty Mongol history, Buddhism, architecture, and art. 02 Tour Route and Highlights From downtown Baotou, drive approximately 50 kilometers along the Beijing-Tibet Expressway to Meidaizhao. Leo drove there himself. The breathtaking scenery of the Inner Mongolian steppes along the way was breathtaking. Tickets cost approximately 30 yuan per person. For a deeper historical perspective, consider purchasing a guided tour or a mobile phone ticket. A typical visit with photos and a guide should take about two hours. The first stop is the Meidaizhao Museum, located in the square in front of the temple and surrounded by stone lotus carvings. Although small, the museum offers a detailed overview of Meidaizhao's historical significance and cultural significance, including relics of shamanic culture and exquisite murals and thangka art. The second stop is Taihe Gate. Passing through the museum, the majestic Yinshan Mountains and the vast Meidaizhao Temple unfold before your eyes. Climbing the city gate offers panoramic views of the lush temples and desolate hillsides, the surrounding scenery is unforgettable. The third stop is the Main Hall. As the core building, it retains Ming Dynasty architectural style and houses the precious mural "Mongolian Nobles Worshiping Buddha." The dim lighting inside the hall adds to its mysterious and solemn atmosphere. The fourth stop is the Empress Dowager Temple (Sanniangzi Temple). Here, Sanniangzi, wife of Altan Khan, is enshrined. She was the founder of Hohhot and actively promoted trade between the Ming Dynasty and Mongolia. Inside the hall, there are portraits said to be of Altan Khan and Sanniangzi, a unique mural found in Inner Mongolian temples.

On the first day of the National Day holiday, I landed in Hailar, Hulunbuir, and spent the evening exploring Hulunbuir Ancient City! The ancient city's nightscape was ablaze with lights, and the distinctive ancient buildings were charming and charming. I tried a frozen pear, a local specialty, for 5 yuan each. Along the way, I browsed snacks, trinkets, shawls, scarves, hats, and other cultural and creative products. I even saw local Mongolians dancing. While the area didn't seem very large, the combination of antiques and history made it a truly scenic spot that blended the past and the present.
Listening to the tour guide, Hulunbuir Hailar has been rated as a national tourist city after many years of efforts. The ancient city of Hailar is not far from Genghis Khan Square. It is still full of lively at night. It is similar to the ancient cities across the country. It is selling goods.

Watching the sunset in Lishantou Town is a very good choice. I slept in the yurt in Heishantou for an afternoon. There was a group of horses eating grass beside the yurt, and the pony was playing with the big horse. It was cute and let me take a picture. Then I went to the nearby dining hall for dinner. After dinner, I came out and found that the sunset was so beautiful and took a few photos. Although there are many small mosquitoes on the grassland, it is worth taking protective measures to come here to play at the same time.
I was planted by a friend. I came here for the first time today. It was the same as my friend described it. It was very good! I really like a homestay in this place. It is called the Mustang Wuxu Tianbian B&B. The boss is southern. The details are very good. The service is good and clean. We stayed for three days and rode horses in their horse farm! The experience is super good.

A free attraction in downtown Hohhot, the mosque is an ancient Chinese building. Photos show that many of the surrounding buildings originally had Arabic-style domes, but now they've all been renovated with Mongolian-style spires, which is a welcome development. Next to the Grand Mosque is a wide food court with a wide selection of local specialties.
As for the attractions in Hohhot, it is still a place worth visiting, and it is also ranked very high among the domestic mosques for its Arabic style. It is said that many groups also come to check in, so it is best to go early, or before closing in the afternoon, you will have a good travel experience, and the Hui Muslim food around is also good.

This attraction is the first attraction we have to visit in Hailar. This is the iconic area of Hailar. There is a bronze statue of Genghis Khan. It is said that the direction of the bronze statue of Genghis Khan is external Mongolia. There are many shopping malls around the square, which is said to be the most prosperous place in Hailar. Although the time is around 6 pm, it is still very sun, come to Hulunbuir to play must bring sun protection supplies.
This is a square in the city center. There is a sculpture of Genghis Khan galloping on his horse. It is a landmark building in Hailar City. You can walk around and stop for 10 minutes. I suggest you try the local breakfast, lamb and beef dumplings, which are delicious.
