We drove from northern Xinjiang back to southern Xinjiang and passed by Kuitun. We stopped by and had a general experience. I don't think it's necessary to come here specifically to see it. The Yadan landform is not very spectacular.
I didn't have much hope at first, but when I got to the scenic spot, I was amazed. The service was well organized, the karst landforms were super photogenic, and the key point was that the prices of restaurants in the scenic area were the same as in the city. It's unbelievable. I really have to give a thumbs up to this.

Karamay means "black oil" in Uyghur, so this natural petroleum asphalt hill is named Black Oil Mountain. This black asphalt mountain and the oil buried underground have been sleeping here for hundreds of millions of years. Due to crustal movement, underground oil is affected by stratum pressure and continuously seeps to the surface along rock cracks. The light part of the oil evaporates, and the remaining thick liquid condenses with sand to form this Black Oil Mountain.
Black Oil Mountain is a Triassic oil outcrop of Karamay Oilfield. It is a group of asphalt hills formed by the long-term spillage of crude oil. The largest one is 13 meters high and covers an area of 0.2 square kilometers. The oil quality of Black Oil Mountain is precious low-condensation oil. According to geologists' predictions, Black Oil Mountain has begun to spill oil as early as 200 million years ago.

In order to carry forward the spirit of hard work and entrepreneurship, the Xinjiang Petroleum Administration Bureau and Karamay City in 1982 On October 1, 1949, a nearly 3-meter-high stone monument and a statue of an old Uighur man riding a donkey and playing the rebab were erected on Heiyu Mountain. Heiyu Mountain Scenic Area has become a memorial site and tourist attraction for people of all ethnic groups to carry out revolutionary traditional education.
