The ancient city of Kashgar is like a living history museum. Stepping into it is like traveling through time and space. The maze-like streets and alleys, the earthy yellow buildings are scattered in an orderly manner, and are filled with strong Uyghur customs. There are a variety of traditional handicraft shops, where you can appreciate the exquisite skills of craftsmen. The ancient city is full of delicious food, and the baked naan and hand-pulled rice are mouth-watering. People are warm and hospitable, with simple smiles. Here, you can truly feel the charm of ancient culture and the fireworks of life. It is a travel experience that cannot be missed.
Enter from the east gate, watch the opening ceremony, stroll through Gulijia and the Sky Garden. Go to Kantuman Bazaar to experience the iron art culture, and then go to Wulanduo B&B to rest. Visit the Id Kah Mosque and the century-old teahouse in the west city, and enjoy the night view of the ancient city in the evening. Gaotai Residence is located in the northeast of the old city of Kashgar, separated from the ancient city of Kashgar by a road. It is a Uighur architectural community built on the loess high cliff. It is more than 40 meters high and more than 800 meters long. It has a history of 600 years. It is a wonder of the ancient Uighur houses and folk customs in Kashgar. As a heritage park, the Kashgar Gaotai houses have more than 600 houses built with mud and poplar wood. They are laid on a slow high slope, the widest of the lanes is 6 meters, and the narrowest is only1.5 meters. Although the houses in the Gaotai houses look shabby, the sun is really unique on the walls.
The Gaotai residence is diagonally across from the ancient city, facing the Ferris wheel.
I have to say that the Ferris wheel was a failure and the entire ancient city was ruined.
Part of the residence is still under renovation, and the rest is used as a shop. Compared with the ancient city, it is much deserted here. There are not many tourists and many shops are not open.
