Liaoyang White Pagoda, located in the White Pagoda Park in Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province, China, is called the White Pagoda because the walls between the eaves and the eight sides of the tower waist are all painted with chalk.
Liaoyang White Pagoda was first built in the Liao and Jin Dynasties. It is an octagonal 13-story eaves brick tower with a height of 70.4 meters. It consists of five parts: the base, the tower seat, the tower body, the tower eaves, and the tower top. The tower base is an octagonal stone platform; the upper part supports the Buddha niche, which contains a sitting Buddha, with an assistant standing on each side, and the upper part is decorated with treasure covers and flying apsaras; the tower eaves are gradually retracted, with wind bells hanging from the eaves corners and bronze mirrors placed between the eaves; the tower top is supported by lotus, and finally ends with a brake pole decorated with flames, phase wheels, and precious beads. Liaoyang White Pagoda integrates the Han nationality and Buddhist culture, and has historical, artistic and scientific value
In 2002, the Liaoyang Municipal Government rebuilt Guangyou Temple near the White Pagoda, attracting a large number of tourists and pilgrims who burn incense and worship Buddha.
