Highly recommended! A must-do for a full day in Qingdao. This ancient mountain resort is well worth the trip. I recommend contacting a reputable travel agency to book a small tour suitable for your group size, with vehicles that can freely enter and exit the scenic area. This will provide a much better experience.
It is one of the few scenic spots where you can both climb the wall and see the sea. The only problem is that the parking lot is too tight and there is serious traffic jam nearby. However, the free parking is still very humane.

I really enjoyed the animal shows. There were a lot of people, and the dolphins, whales, walruses, and sea lions were so cute. Unfortunately, there was no line for the Ferris wheel, so I didn't get to ride it and didn't use my ticket. It was still worth it to see the two must-see shows.
Qingdao is incredibly crowded with tourists, and Polar Ocean World is incredibly crowded. The attractions are quite good, but during peak travel times, there's room for improvement in ticketing, itinerary design, and crowd control.
Overall, it's worth a visit.

Shanhaiguan is a must-visit when visiting Qinhuangdao. This was my second time there, driving from Beijing. It was already 2 p.m. when I arrived. I went straight to the scenic area, but the parking lot was a bit far. I bought a package ticket for two adults and one child on Ctrip. It was convenient and quick. I could just scan my provincial ID or QR code, skipping the line and saving on water. The scenery was quite nice once inside, and the area was relatively clean. Climbing the city wall and gazing out over the mountains beyond the pass was a breathtaking sight. I hadn't had time to explore the ancient city before I headed to my next attraction, Laolongtou.
Shanhaiguan is worth a visit. The scenic spots are fun to visit and not tiring. You must navigate to the ticket gate from the parking lot. There are many places in front and you don’t need to take an electric car at all. The official parking lot of Gao Dedao is not at this location and you still have to take an electric car.

Having visited numerous zoos across China, Xixiakou Zoo is definitely worth a visit. We took the easy route, taking a sightseeing bus directly to the panda enclosure after entering, where we saw various bears. Then we headed to the African section, where the real essence lies in the close encounters with the animals. The highlight was the marine section, where the sea lions and seals were incredibly active in their pursuit of smaller fish, leaping, clapping, and singing. They were truly amazing! Plus, you could feed the seagulls and enjoy the breathtaking ocean views.
