Jiuzhaigou is well-managed and well-organized. The glacial landforms create a unique landscape, and the various waterfalls are breathtaking. The downside is that it's too tiring to walk through the entire area in one day, and the scenic area doesn't allow for secondary entry, so you have to buy a ticket.
The crowds were numerous and the quality was low. The shuttle bus was packed, and queue-jumping was common. Even taking photos required queuing. I recommend completing the tour in one day, focusing on Wuhua Lake, Tiger Lake, Mirror Lake, Changhai Lake, and the Five-Colored Pool. The other pools are average, so if you have more time, feel free to explore them, but I recommend a full day. Value for money: Undoubtedly poor, with a 280 yuan ticket price. Environment: Jiuzhaigou's ambiance is undeniably stunning, surpassing even the best water views in China. Enjoyment: If you haven't seen better elsewhere, this first visit will be truly impressive. There's a lot of walking involved, making it a paradise for hikers.

I went there in mid-September. The Huanglong scenic spot is quite nice, but I had a little altitude sickness. It was still okay if I walked slowly. I had to buy the 20 yuan sightseeing bus, otherwise I would have to walk a lot more.
Take the cable car up, then walk a distance to reach the Five Color Pool, and finally walk down to the exit. If you don't take the cable car, the way up and down is actually the same, so you can just walk once. It was May when I went there, and there was not much water, so the scenery was not very good, but there were not many people either. It would be difficult to take pictures if there were too many people.

Entering Shapotou Scenic Area from the Yellow River, you'll find attractions like speedboats, sheepskin rafts, and the Feihuangtengda zipline. The speedboat and sheepskin rafts are part of a package deal, allowing you to cross the Yellow River by speedboat to the entrance of Shashan. The Feihuangtengda zipline, a 100 yuan round-trip ride across the Yellow River, is well worth it! The sheepskin rafts are unique, each raft carrying four people. The boatman sings Northwest folk songs along the way, returning to the scenic area's main gate. It's truly delightful!
The trip to Shapotou was truly amazing! The cable car ride gave me a gentle ascent, offering breathtaking views. Then, the sandboarding experience was thrilling and exhilarating. The combination of the two made for a truly fantastic experience, highly recommended!

It’s such a wonderful trip. Easy communication. This place is so beautiful and is a must visit when you’re in Lanzhou.
The VIP ticket was incredibly emotionally rewarding! The 3.5-kilometer hike from Nuwa Relics to Danxia Scenic Area took half an hour, and I was saved by the Three Forts in the rest area (the mountaintop prices were even cheaper than in downtown Lanzhou, which really made me cry! 😭) It rained lightly this morning, so I started my tour at noon. The colors were perfectly dampened by the rain, and the cloudy day gave it an ink painting-like feel. This truly is Lanzhou's most famous attraction, and the ticket price is incredibly worth it! 😍

Travel with your dog to Zhagana. The scenic area is pet-friendly. You can climb along the wooden plank road with your dog. There is a large lawn at Fairy Beach where you can overlook Zhagana. Many restaurants are located on the mountainside. The air is very fresh and it is very comfortable to stroll slowly.
Zhagana (meaning "stone box" in Tibetan), a "stone city wonderland" forgotten by time, has a different kind of beauty when you stray into Zhagana on a rainy day. How wonderful is it that it has been rated as a must-see secret place by National Geographic?

The Guozhuang carnival segment was definitely the most unexpected surprise of the entire performance! The Tibetan ladies were so good at getting the atmosphere going; after teaching a few simple moves, the entire audience was jumping along! The children in the inner circle jumped the most enthusiastically, and the adults also let loose, transforming the entire square into a sea of joy. The bonfire illuminated everyone's smiling faces, and Tibetan songs accompanied the sound of cheerful footsteps. This joy of everyone participating was truly contagious!
The actors' professionalism is truly admirable! Even in their heavy costumes, they executed every movement with meticulous precision. Their expressions were expressive during face-changing, and their fire-breathing was powerful. They even invited the audience on stage to interact with the performance and gave out small gifts at the end. This truly captured the essence of Sichuan Opera. This wonderful performance deserves everyone's applause.

After a decade, returning to the Gansu Provincial Museum's exhibition halls, the familiar weight of history was tinged with a refreshing surprise. The excitement of reunion intensified as I witnessed the transformation of the exhibition layout and exhibits. The Gansu Provincial Museum's exhibition layout is most clearly "scientific," far more than a simple display of artifacts. Focusing on "Yellow River Culture," it weaves together prehistoric civilization, Silk Road trade, and the intermingling of multiple ethnic groups into a clear thread. From the juxtaposition of painted pottery and agricultural tools from the Dadiwan site, you can directly witness the transition from slash-and-burn agriculture to pottery cooking. In the Silk Road exhibition hall, Hu merchant figurines unearthed from the Hexi Corridor, Persian silver coins, and Central Plains silk are brought together in a single narrative space, instantly capturing the vibrant commercial scene of "camel bells ringing across Europe and Asia." Even more thoughtfully, each exhibition area is accompanied by lightweight text explanations and multimedia videos, avoiding academic obscurity while also preventing history from being reduced to "picture-based object identification." Even children can follow the clues and understand the stories behind the artifacts. If the exhibition layout is the "skeleton," the exhibits are the living, breathing "flesh and blood" of Gansu's museum. Its richness lies in its collection of unique national treasures. Besides the well-known "Horse Stepping on Flying Swallow" (a bronze galloping horse), there's also China's largest "Bronze Chariot and Horse Guard of Honor," featuring 38 bronze horses, one axe cart, and four chariots neatly arranged, as if ready to carry Han Dynasty soldiers on the Silk Road. The "Human Face and Newt Painted Pottery Vase" from the Yangshao culture, with its eerie yet vibrant human face and newt motifs, is a rare relic of the spiritual world of prehistoric ancestors. Furthermore, manuscripts and Tangut Buddhist scriptures unearthed from the Dunhuang Caves quietly speak of Gansu's unique status as a treasure trove of literature. These exhibits are more than just artifacts; they are a condensed, tangible, and comprehensive history of Gansu. Compared to many museums, Gansu's uniqueness lies in its irreplaceable "regional DNA." Rather than pursuing comprehensiveness, the museum culminates in the quintessential characteristics of the "Upper Yellow River Civilization" and the "Golden Section of the Silk Road." While other museums may exhibit painted pottery, few offer the complete sequence of painted pottery from the Dadiwan, Majiayao, and Qijia cultures, allowing you to clearly see how painted pottery evolved from simplicity to sophistication. While other museums can tell the story of the Silk Road, the museum's exhibits primarily draw from local sites. From the bronze galloping horse from the Leitai Han Tomb to the statues from Bingling Temple, each piece exudes the essence of Gansu's soil, creating a sense of distance. Even more remarkable is its lack of deliberate attempts to create a sense of distance. For example, the "Bronze Galloping Horse" exhibit features multi-angle viewing platforms, allowing you to clearly see the exquisite balance of the horse's feet on the flying swallow. These details, which make national treasures approachable, are precisely what makes the museum so captivating. Ten years later, the Gansu Provincial Museum has not been confined to the "memories of the old museum," but has brought history to life with more scientific exhibition arrangements, more vibrant exhibits, and a more unique regional expression. Revisiting this place is not only a reunion with the past, but also a dialogue with a Gansu that is both "familiar and fresh," spanning millennia.
It's worth a visit, but it was so crowded I couldn't even see the bronze galloping horse. It was packed inside and outside. It's best not to go during the summer. 😂 Also, there's a shop near the entrance with Green Code and his friends, which is quite interesting and a great place to take photos. The scenery is magnificent, the wildflowers are beautiful, the groundhogs are cute, the prices are reasonable, the grilled sausages on the mountain are delicious, and there are groundhog dolls for sale on the mountain. The price is very reasonable, about 25 yuan each, but they are super cute!
Standing on the observation deck at the first of the Yellow River's nine bends, the view unfolds as the Yellow River winds like a wisp of silk across the vast grasslands. The rolling hills in the distance contrast with the blue sky and white clouds, creating a vast and magnificent scene that defies description. Sunset is breathtakingly beautiful, the afterglow of the setting sun bathing the river in a dreamlike golden-red hue. However, there are some unsatisfactory aspects. The entrance fee and escalator ticket cost 105 yuan, which is indeed quite expensive. The entrances for the escalator and the descending plank road are in different locations, requiring a detour, making the trip quite average. If you're not a keen photographer or are pressed for time, the trip might seem a bit of a waste. However, for nature lovers, it's well worth the experience. Overall, the experience is a 7 out of 10.

It was my first time in Lanzhou, and I found this "Yellow River Building" on the Internet. It looked very tall and there were many tourists. The view from upstairs was wide, and you could drink tea and look at the mother river, which was very exciting.
The Yellow River Tower is located in downtown Lanzhou. It's quite high, offering great views. Inside the tower are several exhibition halls, each with its own unique collection of exhibits. The paleontology and Yellow River stone exhibits are particularly interesting, offering a wealth of information.

I was lucky enough to have a sunny day. The grass was still green at the end of August. The blue sky and white clouds were reflected in the wetland water. It was beautiful. The snow-capped mountains in the distance were a backdrop.
When traveling with your dog to Norgay, you must check in at Huahu Lake. I came here by myself 11 years ago, and 11 years later I brought my dog back to see the scenery. The scenic area is pet-friendly, and puppies can also take the sightseeing bus. There are no steps along the plank road throughout the tour. There are also many service points in the scenic area, and you can replenish water in time when the weather is hot. The staff of the scenic area are also very nice.
