On a steep hill in the center of Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, Japan, there is a traditional Japanese ancient city, Matsuyama Castle. In ancient times, it was easy to defend and difficult to attack. Now it is the best place to climb up and overlook the city and the sea.
Matsuyama Ancient City and Castle Tower is one of the twelve existing castle towers in Japan built before the Edo period. It was built in 1602 and took 25 years to build. Later, part of the building was damaged by lightning, and the current part of the building was rebuilt in 1854.
The museum-like cultural relics exhibition in the castle tower allows visitors to learn about the history and culture of the Matsuyama area in Japan. At the same time, you can overlook the beautiful Matsuyama city and seaside scenery.
