Guifeng Village has a long history. It was first built in the 7th year of Chunyou in the Southern Song Dynasty (1247). Caichang, the ninth grandson of Cai Xiang, a famous official in the Northern Song Dynasty, founded the village here. He inherited the ancestral precepts and built a residence in isolation, farming and studying to pass down his family. For centuries, the descendants of the Cai family in Guifeng have multiplied, developed and created civilization here, making Guifeng a well-known cultural hometown and known as "Little Fuzhou".
Among the 39 existing ancient buildings, the earliest one was built in the late Ming Dynasty, and the largest number was built in the early Qing Dynasty. It combines architectural practices from all over Fujian and embodies the characteristics of diversity and comprehensiveness, but at the same time it also has the uniqueness of its mountain settlements without losing the local characteristics. In addition to traditional buildings, Guifeng Village is full of ancient roads, ancient streets, ancient trees, ancient studies, ancient inscriptions, ancient paintings, ancient genealogy, etc. There are small bridges and flowing water in the village, and the winding alleys lead to secluded areas. It can be said that the scenery changes with every turn, and the sky changes with each step. Guifeng's "Cai Family Genealogy" records the famous eight sceneries of Guifeng, including: stalagmites reaching into the sky, golden roosters shining in the sun, and jade springs surging densely. The architectural style of the villages in Guifeng Village is distributed on the three slopes of the village according to the mountain situation. It is layered on top of each other and well-proportioned. It is backed by Houmen Ridge and Houmen Mountain, which is the main mountain, and Houmentian and other hills on both sides are sand hills. , facing the canyon in front, with the continuous mountains in the distance serving as the mountain, surrounded by mountains, lingering clouds and mist, a mountain stream runs through the whole village, and the "Three Stone Seal Bridges" are built at the entrance of the village to choke the water mouth, forming a typical wind and gas gathering, The feng shui pattern of negative yin and yang.
