Went in Jan, spend a few hours there. there is a cafe at mid of the ropeway, and the view is very relaxing. do plan your timing in between the two ropeways.
Unlike the common cable cars in China, Shin-Takaho's cable car is a larger one. Tickets are easy to use and the cable car runs smoothly. The cable car goes up all the way, through the clouds, from the autumn colors at the bottom of the mountain to the early winter scene at the top of the mountain. The scenery is beautiful and pleasant.

Gaoshan is a small town... I got up around 5 o'clock last night and it was very quiet... I had to pay attention to the time... but if you want to take some real travel photos, it's very good...
Because the Hida region has precious timber resources, it was directly controlled by the Edo Shogunate for 176 years from 1692 to 1868. The government office was established in Takayama Jinya to carry out administrative, legal, police, and judicial affairs here, and it continued to be used until 1969. The main components of this building can be divided into three major elements: the place where the officials of the time worked. The living place. And the barn where the rice collected by the shogunate was stored. Because the architectural style incorporates the craftsmanship of Japanese craftsmen and many characteristics, it is not only designated as a national historical site, but also won the Michelin Japan Green Guide two-star level in 2015.

Okuhida Onsen Village is composed of five hot spring villages, including Hirayu, Fukuchi, and Shinhotaka. The transportation is not particularly convenient and you need to take a bus from Takayama to get there. The whole hot spring village is very quiet and is especially suitable for visiting in winter. You should stay for at least 2-3 days, experience various hot spring hotels, and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the snow-capped mountains up close. It is definitely worth a visit.
There was no one on the streets of this quiet hot spring town, only various hot spring hotels of all sizes. The whole town was filled with the curling hot steam and sulfur smell of natural hot springs. So we went back to the hotel to soak in the hot springs.

This is the ancient street of Takayama City in Gifu. It is very charming and looks like a small Kyoto. This area is full of old-style buildings, Ebisudaigumi-machi, all of which are wooden old buildings. I am very lucky to see this rare beauty. However, no matter how beautiful it is, I might freeze to death if I live in such a cold place all the time.
Why are the buildings in the mountains so dark? Since high-grade wood such as cypress was not allowed to be used in building houses in those days, residents used coal mixed with iron oxide to coat the building materials in order to avoid inspection. This has become one of the characteristics of the buildings in the mountains today. . In order to maintain privacy and obtain sufficient lighting and ventilation, the lattice-like windows outside the house are even more ingenious. In the Edo period, there was an unwritten rule for ordinary people's houses. The height of the first floor must be the same as that of the building next door, which gave these old streets with neatly lined up facades the name of Machiami. You might as well take a closer look!

Hie Shrine, located in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan, is a famous maple viewing spot in the area. It feels a little early to come to see the red leaves before October, but you can already see that the maple trees in the shrine have begun to turn red. Hie Shrine is connected to Shiroyama Park, so you can go sightseeing together. Address: Shiroyama 156, Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture Tickets: Free Parking: Yes, Free Time: No restrictions, but it is recommended to go before 4:30. The sun basically sets after 4:30.
In the anime movie, everyone must remember the heroine Mitsuha Miyamizu's Kuchikamizaku. The place where this Kuchikamizaku took place is Hie Shrine in Takayama City. [Scenery] Although Kuchikamizaku does not exist in reality, Hie Shrine is still worth visiting. Hie Shrine is very close to Takayama Old Street. There is a towering tree in the quaint shrine. After the rain, the shrine is washed and looks even more quiet. [Value for money] Free admission, don't miss it if you pass by.

Hida Kokubunji Temple is very small. Entering the mountain gate, there is a bell tower, a main hall, three-story pagodas on both sides, and a side courtyard. There are two exquisite Guanyin statues in the courtyard, which should preserve the style of the Nara period.
Hida Kokubunji Temple has a history of more than 500 years and is an important cultural relic of Japan. Kokubunji Temple is only about 5 minutes' walk from Miyagawa Morning Market, Sannomiya Ancient Street, and Takayama Station. Kokubunji Temple is famous for the 1,200-year-old ginkgo tree in the temple. In winter, the leaves of the ginkgo tree fall off, and it looks a bit vicissitudes of time. It should be very beautiful in autumn. The three-story pagoda in the temple is located near the center.
