After working in Yaozhou, Shaanxi for 15 years, the biggest reward is that I often go to Yaowang Mountain to pay homage to the former residence of Sun Simiao. He was a famous doctor in the Tang Dynasty and occupies an unshakable position in the history of Chinese medicine in our country.

55 years ago, in 1965, I graduated from Beijing Aviation School and was assigned to the Aircraft Structure Strength Research Institute in Yao County, Shaanxi. I lived there for 15 years and was later transferred back to Beijing.

During these 15 years, most of my spare time in Yao County was spent on the mountains and rivers of Yao County, among which Yaowang Mountain was a place we often went to.

In those days, there were no cars for transportation, so we could only walk with our legs, measure the steps with our feet, and walk to the top of the mountain step by step. Because tourism was not important in that era, and there were no development companies to package and decorate, so we could wander freely in the desolate Yaowang Mountain without tickets.

There, I often appreciate the famous Sun Simiao&#39;s &quot;Thousand Gold Treasures&quot; engraved on the stone tablet.

I went to Yaowang Mountain again a few years ago. It has been 50 years since the last time. Is the stele with &quot;Wutai Mountain&quot; still there? Because the name is the same as Wutai Mountain in Shanxi, the illustrations for my articles published in &quot;Aviation Archives&quot; have also caused similar doubts. This question always lingers in my mind. When I arrived at Yaowang Temple, the stele was still there. According to an old fortune-teller standing next to it, since the Song Dynasty, this mountain has been called Wutai Mountain, which is West Wutai Mountain. Later, in order to commemorate Sun Simiao, it was changed to Yaowang Mountain.
I took a special photo when I revisited the old place. I published the photos 50 years ago and the current photos at the same time as my admiration for Sun Simiao, the King of Medicine. Yaowang Mountain is still worth writing about. The culture, cultural relics, and historical heritage here have a history of 1,600 years. The pine and cypress trees planted by Sun Simiao are still evergreen. What a wonderful and surprising thing!
