This is my second visit to Monkey Island. I visited once many years ago, and the area that can be explored seems smaller than before. You can see many monkeys, and you can buy snacks to feed them, but for safety reasons, the park doesn't allow hand-to-hand feeding; you have to throw the food out. Besides that, there are circus performances and short films to watch, but these kinds of shows and movies are available in many other places. The highlight is the aerial cable car to and from Monkey Island, offering beautiful views of the Tanka fishing rafts, the Clearwater Bay seascape, and the Monkey Island forest. Important reminder: Many locals outside the park offer to take you into Monkey Island for 100 yuan. This doesn't actually get you into the main attraction; they'll take you to a part of the island outside the main area where you can feed the monkeys (hand-to-hand), but there are no other activities.
