kykr96I highly recommend it! Yufuin is a small hot spring town about two hours from Fukuoka. Stay at a ryokan, take a warm hot spring bath, and enjoy delicious kaiseki and breakfast~

川流不息1980The entire train journey took a little over two hours. The section from Yufuin to Kurume featured typical Japanese countryside scenery, which was quite pleasant. The so-called waterfalls online were actually quite small (perhaps I misunderstood the train announcements). The train announced some scenic spots, though only in Japanese and English. The onboard interaction was also quite pleasant. The attendants explained which carriages had what, and you could even wear the train attendant uniforms and take photos. Finally, just before arriving in Hakata, they distributed candy printed in the train's iconic colors.

Doctor X_CandyHow can you miss Kinrin Lake when you come to Yufuin In the morning, the lake is covered with mist, and it feels like you are in a fairyland When the sun rises, the mist dissipates, and you can see the lake rippling like fish scales, which is so beautiful. There is a hot spring hotel nearby, which is very convenient. The small shop under the hot spring hotel is also very good. The colored candies sold there are delicious, with several flavors. The green one is matcha, the yellow one is ginger flavor, and the key color is amber. You can buy it and try it. I haven't seen it anywhere else.

藤琦丝织The maple leaves by the lake have turned red; the area is worth a visit. A very beautiful countryside, with distant mountains and wheat fields. A hot spring town with a babbling brook. It really feels like something out of a Miyazaki film. Check out the Yubri no Mori train; it takes you to a dreamlike place. See if you can find any fridge magnets sold at Yubri no Mori.
