Disabled travellers can enjoy Renfe's discounts, offering up to 40% off. By purchasing a Tarjeta Dorada for €6, you can travel on AVE, Avant, and Cercanías trains for a year. The discount on Avant trains is more substantial on weekends. Refunds or changes to tickets depend on the type of ticket and may come with a fee.
Renfe Spanish Large Families Fare
Renfe offers discounted fares for large families in Spain, providing a 20% reduction for general category families and 50% for special category families on most services, including AVE and Larga Distancia trains. These discounts exclude AVE International, Avant, and Cercanías services. Single-parent families can also access discounts on Rodalies trains in Catalonia with a valid certificate from the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Renfe Young Persons Fare
Renfe provides young people aged 14 to 25 with up to 30% off train fares through the Más Renfe Joven Card, which costs €50. This card is valid for one year and cannot be transferred. Children under four travel for free but do not have a reserved seat. Note that, on Cercanías trains, the free travel age limit without a seat is under six years old.
