Touring Australia, this stop is coming to Hobart, the capital of Tasmania. Richmond is the oldest town, it is about 30 minutes drive from Hobart, the three oldest in the town of Richmond, of which Richmond Prison is the oldest and best preserved prison in Australia, it was built in 1825, It is one of the best protected prisons in Tasmania. There was once a British criminal, Aiqi Solomon, visiting the prison, you can see the chain inmates' bedrooms, whipping yards, kitchens and storage rooms, etc., reproducing the lives of former prisoners. There is a fee to visit, tickets are $15.

Richmond Prison is the “oldest and best preserved colonial prison in Australia.” Richmond Prison was built in 1825 and was held in Port Arthur Prison, a famous prison for heavy criminals from the Australian colony, as early as 1833. One of the labors involved in the Richmond prison was the construction of the Richmond Bridge. It is reported that the construction of the Richmond prison, from 1825 to 1840, lasted for 15 years. The oldest part of the complex was built in 1825, when the building not only provided day and night cells for prisoners, but also housed guards. Later, more buildings were added year by year, including guard houses in 1834, kitchens in 1835, single cells and women's cells, and walls in 1840. From 1877 to 1928, the Richmond prison was used as a local detention facility and closed. Until the 1940s, it was reopened as a historical site and tourist attraction. Tickets are required to visit Richmond Prison, no time, and not very interested. Port Arthur Prison has been visited, and Richmond is the oldest prison in Australia, and it must not be very interesting. This is just my personal idea, and I don't want to discredit the ticket to visit! In addition to having Australia's oldest stone bridge (1823), the oldest Catholic church (1836) and the oldest prison (1825), the historic town is also known for its Georgian-style architecture. Among the stone buildings are now coffee shops, pastries, toy shops, gift shops, art galleries and museums. Generations of artists and craftsmen have been drawn to the town, and their works are found everywhere in art galleries and coffee shops. We tasted mango ice cream at Sweets & Treats chocolate shop, ate apple pie at Richmond Bakery pastry shop, and then traveled around various style shops to experience the fun of the backflow of time.
