New Delhi is a mix of both the old and new with both parts of the city seamlessly coexisting with one another 🇮🇳
Here are some awesome places you must visit if you’re ever visiting this fascinating metropolis ☝️
A solo traveler's guide to Amritsar
Amritsar is a city of faith in the desert, located in the northern part of India, bordering Pakistan, and it overturns my imagination of Indian cities.
Transportation guide, traveling alone from Delhi, India to Amritsar, take a second-class train compartment. It is advised not to take the lowest class as locals may fight for seats. The cost for a second-class compartment is less than 20 yuan. However, purchasing tickets at the train station is inconvenient due to the need to queue. Online purchases require a local SIM card for registration and a local credit card for payment. I used an intermediary to buy the ticket for 60 yuan, for a second-class seat. The journey takes over 5 hours.
Accommodation, it is recommended for solo travelers to choose accommodations in the center of Amritsar, as it is unsafe to walk through alleys at night. The cost starts at 100 yuan, and the environment is quite nice.
Attractions guide, the main attractions in Amritsar are the Golden Temple and the flag-lowering ceremony at Wagah, in the neighboring city.
The Golden Temple is the landmark of Amritsar, and it can be said that the city was built around this temple. Head coverings are required to enter the Golden Temple, which is open for free, and free meals are provided all day, allowing visitors to experience it with the locals.
Additionally, the commercial street in the Golden Temple square has a Middle Eastern flair, reminiscent of ancient Persian style, with many ethnic costumes and delicacies.
Wagah is an hour's drive from Amritsar, and you need to carpool from the Golden Temple square, which costs 10 yuan for a round trip. I carpooled with locals. The flag-lowering ceremony at the India-Pakistan border is a carnival, with people from both countries dancing together. Then they lower the flags together, with a strong sense of ceremony. The event is free of charge.

In Amritsar, India, soldiers at the border between India and Pakistan held a ceremony for changing posts. India's Pakistani border is world-famous, and its reputation is the flag-raising ceremony on the border of India and Pakistan. On the border of India and Pakistan, look at India opposite, and then look back at the Pakistan side, you will find it really interesting! Because the Indian soldiers and Pakistani soldiers at the border of India and Pakistan will sneak up on the daily flag-reduction ceremony. Whether it is the gorgeousness of the soldiers' costumes or the momentum and attitude of the flag-raising ceremony, they are all happy.

Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Land of Golden Temple
#wecreate
Finding ourselves in the land of the Golden Temple, Amritsar. Modest but a very functional airport. Easy to navigate around too as all the staff (airport and retail) speaks English. Despite it is an international airport, it is not crowded.
There’s also a replica of the famous Golden Temple right at the departure hall. Food and beverage places are limited. Just a few serving cafe food like sandwiches and cuppa. As I was with my travelling group which does not have free lounge access, I didn’t go to the lounge. Else would have got into Costa. Hope they can get more vibrant as flight volume dropped much due to the pandemic.
