Compared with the Kuckenhov Amsterdam Botanical Garden, it is much colder. The botanical garden has a small area. There are many kinds of plants, including ferns, fungi and shrubs. The air in the courtyard is very clear, sitting on the bench in the park, breathing fresh air, the spirit is much better.
Excellent botanical gardens. Free with iAmsterdam pass. We stopped by in passing and went through the whole thing! 3 different large climate enclosures (One was tropical and one was a desert! Not sure about the third). They also have a small butterfly room! (No extra charge, which is different from many gardens and museums I've been to). Lots of outdoor walking space as well. Very highly recommended!
A beautiful garden, with flowers, herbs and a giant greenhouse with palms and tropical plants The Botanical Garden also has a cosy café and terrace. You can also rent the café and terrace for a party or reception. For more tourist information, what to do and the more than 60 museums in Amsterdam please visit my blogs at: http://amsterdamalmanac.blogspot.nl/ and http://amsterdammuseuminfo.blogspot.nl/
The Hortus Botanicus is like an oasis of peace in the middle of the city center. It is amazing to think that the botanical garden has been in the same location for over 300 years, gathering up to 6,000 types of plants. Learning about the history of the garden is also learning a bit about Amsterdam history (it started as a way to avoid plague outbreaks) and also the history of the country, since many plant specimens were brought to the Netherlands thanks to trade and commerce overseas.
In the beautiful botanical garden, there are tree-lined paths composed of cherry trees, tranquil lake streams and huge grasslands, which are very suitable for a half-day trip to enjoy cherry on a green picnic. There are also special people in the garden to explain, you can learn a lot of plant-related knowledge.
This is not an ordinary tourist attraction. It has a beautiful botanical garden and an intelligent center. All the plants in it are wild, so there are no very brilliant exotic flowers. You can think of it as a botanical museum, not a flower exhibition. Outdoor gardens are arranged according to the time of plant evolution, from ferns to evergreens to deciduous plants, with a herbal garden in the middle, most of which are in Dutch. In such a medium-sized botanical garden, tickets seem a little expensive, but I am interested in gardening, so I am willing to spend money. Generally speaking, there are no tourists like knitting here. A few days ago, I visited many museums. It's just a place for rest.
Amsterdam botanical garden area is not very large, near the canal in the country may be a riverside green space. But here at least proves that the whole city is not only decorated with tulips, listening to ducks, sitting by chairs, how relaxed, unfortunately time is too fast to do it.
