It’s on the outskirts of the Western Gas Factory, which is very close, so it attracts many people to come here directly from the Western Gas Factory. It is also a very lively place. The scenery of the whole scenic spot is also good.
The park area is not very large and there are not many people. In fact, the population density of the Netherlands is not very large, and Amsterdam is also a very leisure place. The pace of life of local residents is not very fast, and walking in the park is very comfortable.
A hip park with lots of festivals. Go if you can to the food truck market mid may 2016
Nice park to walk, lay in the sun, have a lovely lunch, diner or clubbing in the night. Almost every weekend nice events with food or art.
WESTERPARK & WESTERN GAS FACTORYThe Westerpark in the Staatsliedenbuurt & Spaarndammerbuurt has been established in 1891. It served this quiet, working class area of Amsterdam. What originally was a small 19th century park, has been united with the vast area of the defunct municipal gas installations, the Westergasfabriek.A location where, in the former factory buildings and the gas tank, be used for all kinds of activities with a mostly artistic character. There are also a number of cafés, restaurants and the Neighbour Food Market is a well-known public attraction. And there is on site every now and then a fun fair.
Small, but varied park just west of the Centraal station. Marshland, waterfalls, grassy fields and a small river section for swimming are all here including nice restaurants and cafes.
