Parc Ivoloina

We booked a day trip here as part of the cruise. At the end of the day it was a mixed one. A very hard journey from Tamatave through a bad road. The park is old. We had local guides who gave a good explanation. There are many lemurs, both in the enclosure and roaming freely. However, interacting with lemurs is impossible. Our children (3 and 5 years old) love the turtles, otherwise they will feel very tired (a lot up and down in the park, high temperature). We really can’t recommend this trip

I have returned for my second visit since my first one last year was so wonderful. The guide was knowledgeable and able to show you the tiny silver frogs and stuff like that we would walk straight through. The park should praise their educational programs for local schoolchildren and communities as this is a very important job. Even after heavy rain, the reserve is beautiful and well maintained. I recommend not trying to drive yourself unless you have a 4x4 or high car because the roads are not good, especially during the rainy season. They have many different lemur species, as well as frogs, snakes and delicate giant chameleons. Although the park is relatively small, it is well worth a visit with beautiful tropical scenery, knowledgeable guides and animals.
