Anyang County is located along the northern edge of Henan Province. Anyang City is located in its northern part. The county borders the Taihang Mountain Range in the west and the North China Plain in the east. In ancient times, the cities of Yin and Ye were situated close to one another in this region and acted as capital cities and cultural centers. Anyang is famous for its Yin dynasty ruins and relics. The site has yielded over 500 relics from the Yangshao, Longshan, Shang, and Zhou cultures. Tourist attractions include the Xiudingsi Pagoda, the Lingquan Temple Grottoes, the Ye Fortress Ruins (Cao Cao’s Mausoleum), the Zhaohe Scenic Area, the Small South China Sea, and Pearl Springs.
