St. Peter's Square

Wow, wow, wow! St. Peter’s Square is stunning and larger than I imagined. The fountains, the architecture is all so grand!

St. Peter's Square is oval, surrounded by two semicircular marble colonnades, forming three corridors magnificent, the square can accommodate up to 500,000 people. The square and St. Peter's Basilica are located on the central axis.

St. Peter's Square is named after St. Peter, an apostle of Jesus who Catholics believe was the first Pope. The square is centered on an ancient Egyptian obelisk, built in 1586 and on its current site. Gian Lorenzo Benini designed the square about 100 years later, including four deep giant Doric colonnades in the "Main Church". The granite fountain built by Benini in 1675 matches another fountain designed by Carlo Madeno in 1613.

The Vatican's square is in front of St. Peter's Cathedral. It is Rome's largest square, Baroque style, can accommodate 500,000 people, is the Holy See used to engage in large-scale religious activities. Located on the West Bank of the Taipo River. In the center of the square stands an obelisk, and between the bronze lions there are eagles, flying like wings. The stone tablet, originally decorated by the Roman Emperor Caligula as a circular square beside the palace, was transported from Egypt. In 1586, Pope Sistine V ordered the stone tablet to be moved to St. Peter's Square. It is said that more than 900 workers, 150 horses and 47 lifting devices were mobilized for this purpose. It took nearly five months to complete the relocation project. There are two well-shaped fountains on both sides of the square, which are also legendary works of famous artists. Spring water sprays upward from the middle and divides into two layers. The upper layer is mushroom-shaped, and the water column falls down to form a water curtain around it. The lower layer is bowl-shaped, which receives the spring water as a fine overflow and murmurs. The square and its adjacent colonnades were designed by renowned architect and sculptor Bernini in 1656 and completed in 11 years. The marble statues on the top of the pillars were carved by Bernini and his students. Bernini is famous for his Baroque art which advocates magnificence and exaggeration.

Vatican Square is beautiful!!! Super shock, in which time seems to be static, the millennium has passed. The incomparable tranquility and peace, as if with the creator, Zen penetrates the mystery of all things, only in that moment can you read a lifetime. No place in the world is beautiful. I have been there countless times and still yearn for it. The power of religion can really purify the soul and wash out the lead. Or has my heart been restored to infinite tranquility, as if all the stories of the world had nothing to do with me. I only wish the world peace and true love will last forever. It's off at 7 P. m., but there are still reluctant people looking over the wooden fence. The police always open the door in good faith and let devout believers put flowers before leaving. Vatican staff are also leaving at this time, there are handsome men: -) The evening is even more amazing, many visitors specially come to enjoy the night of St. Peter's Square, many with SLR cameras to capture this wonderful scenery! There are a lot of police patrols around, so don't worry about public security issues.

In front of St. Peter's Cathedral is St. Peter's Square, which can hold 300,000 people. The square is 340 meters long and 240 meters wide. It is surrounded by two semi-circular corridors. Everyone who walks into St. Peter's Square is deeply impressed by the magnificent scene. When we queued into the church, we followed the queue around the square for most of the time. The scale was amazing. The sight of churches and tourists flocking to and fro in the square is unforgettable.

St. Peter's Square in front of St. Peter's Cathedral is also shocking. The key is that once you enter the Square, you enter the smallest country in the world, a place where the Holy See holds large religious activities. I have always been curious about the Vatican, an incredible confusion, until I stepped into this country, only to feel that this is not a country based on the size of its territory, but on the capital of the Catholic Church, the largest sect of Christianity! The magnificent momentum created by hundreds of columns around the square makes you feel in the midst of it, and you have to give a thump of praise. For this eleven-year-old square, the building itself has a lot of cultural connotations to appreciate, but I still haven't noticed that the 320-ton cylinder from Egypt is so spectacular that it can only be a walking horse if it goes around once.
